Yeah he played a couple of matches in the VFL last year as a fwd/ruck. Not huge hit out numbers, but he provides a contest. Carlton have already said they want to play him at some stage this year, with casbolt out it seems to be their best chance. Maybe they will bring him in when it isn't such a winnable match though

Would be tempted to play TDK here

Do you think so? I somehow feel the same way, although I know it's highly unlikely.
There's just something about De Koning that gives me a good feeling about him.

Would be a huge 'risk' but what the hell. If we're going to go down, let's do it by getting games into the young guys now.
Didn't think I'd be saying that this early in the piece, but we can't change the hit we've been dealt upon our list by way of injury.

Two weeks ago, we saw an opening for Le Bois and now even he's gone down with what looks to be a longer term injury.
Why not play De Koning if the balance allows?

Simpson Jones Weitering
Mullet Marchbank Thomas.........Plowman looks unlikely and may need a break anyway.

Kreuzer Cripps ECurnow
SPS Kennedy Fisher

Lang McKay CCurnow
Wright De Koning Dow

O'Brien Garlett Polson Graham/Kerridge

This weeks missing: Docherty..Casboult..Murphy..Byrne..Williamson..Cuningham..Pickett..ASilvagni..possibly Plowman..possibly CCurnow..possibly Marchbank..LeBois..McDaid. N

All I know about Casboult is that it took him 5 years to get a fitness base good enough to be the chop out ruck.

Kerr will be hard pressed to have enough gas to play as a deep target only, no chance he could play @ +25% ruck as well.

And I like the kid. I reckon he could be our smartest tall forward since Lance. That left foot dribble from 25m out yesterday was insane.

Good preview jab

Eseendons 3rd qtrs are poor, they’ve lost their 3rd qtrs by 136 points this year, Hawthorn made their charge yesterday in the third, knowing they have an issue & it’s psychological...hopefulky we can take advantage

His recovery after a contest is exceptional, whether that be in the ruck, a pack marking situation or after a tackle. Doesn't spectate.

He seems to be invested and wants to impose himself in the game from start to end.
Just seems to have the right attitude for the game and a hunger for the contest. Early days, but he's surprised me more than any of the newbies, so far.

An early snap-shot of the crowd from next Saturday, from both teams' supporters.

I watched the Bullants match yesterday... while Lang looked good in the second half, he is nowhere near match fit for the AFL.

Kerr tried hard all day and ended up with 3 snags for the day... could have been 5 if a bit more luck had gone his way in a frenetic 5 minute period. I think with Casboult out for a few weeks, Kerr could get his chance to shine in the seniors.

Weitering was a rock in defence playing the loose man. He absolutely dominated their forward line. However, for his piece of mind, I would leave him in the VFL for another couple of games to rebuild his confidence and for him to fully recover from his injury.

JSOS appeared to spend the day playing in the middle in a ruck/rover role and appeared to have a good game. If they are trying him in his grandfather's old job, he stays in the VFL for a while longer.

JGM, despite a couple of errors had a good game as well. He went about his job quietly and appears to be close to a debut as well.

I'd wait to see the report on Charlie and Marchbank before automatically including them in the team against Essendope.

Casboult is done for a month with that rib fracture. Plowman might miss with a bad cork. O'shea might keep his spot because... we're running a bit short on defensive depth ATM with McCreadie out with a quad strain. If we had all our defenders back, I would say go with Rowe and Weitering as our talls and fill the rest with mediums and smalls.

That said, our definite out is Casboult at this time. Kerr gets his chance to shine I reckon.

I hope we smash those filthy drug cheats , cant stand em.

Another loss for them would see them at 2-6 and pretty much will be the end of their season, cant see them making finals. Given all the hype prior to the start of the season not playing finals will be an absolute disaster for them.
