this conspiracy theory would have more credo if Selwood was picked, and/or named captain in 2019
Interesting that this almost matches up with the final ladder for the H&A season with some notable anomalies: WB, Collinwood and Melbourne have more players represented than their ladder position currently indicates. St Kilda, Richmond and, to a lesser degree, Brisbane has less players represented than their current position would indicate.

I want Steele in a mid position but can't be done if they name Danger and Boak, capatain and vice captain along with Neale. Danger getting by on past reputation in my opinion.
If you compare the two by stats, nothing between them until you then realise Steele plays both ways and stops an opposition mid in his tracks while also playing offensively. Meh.

He got moved up forward in the last quarter a couple of times because we needed someone to take a mark. Remember he was an AA under 22 forward. No opponent destroyed him, though Harris Andrews was beaten soundly a couple of times. He got the nod over Weitering because he is multi-dimensional. He is attacking as well as negating. Carlton fans should remember that he basically got us over the line in the last quarter against the Blues with his intercept marking and aggressive running. Meanwhile Weitering was static on the inconsistent Checkers.

Great stat to highlight, these midfielders are brilliant at getting involved in midfield possession chains that result in scores. I would love to have them in the midfield. They are very good midfielders.
Jake Niall's team from The Age this week is pretty bang on for mine and has a good balance.
This year's team has to be the worst team on talent and balance ever selected. These selectors need to go. Kb Is past it and Hocking is destroying just about anything he touches at the moment

Plus Im 12 beers in and donated blood today. And my arm hasnt stopped bleeding.
Is that bad ?
Naitanui was the starting ruck, he was waaayyyy better than Cox that year.
If anything, Jacobs should've gotten the bench spot over Cox.

Was surprised he made it.
People sayings it's hard to get selected as a small forward (it absolutely is btw) but it's impossible to get selected as a medium forward.
Every year they pick at least 2 medium defenders (this year Ryan and Haynes - both deserving) but there have only been 2 medium forwards picked in the last decade! (Stringer in 15 and Gunston in 18).At least small forwards there have been between 1 and 3 every year.
Poor old Gunston has made the squad 5 times now (and kicked 50+ the other 4 times) for one selection.

Well, injured or not, his on field output was minimal through those years.
Not necessarily a compelling statistic for a forward selection though.
Unless you think score involvements mean something out of the ordinary.
