not to sure possibly but 20 extra in 60 balls that makes it 80 that pretty pathectic from someone of his talentDidn't he have a similar performance in a Big Bash League match last season?

My point exactly. How does a man get a chance to develop a brain or patience or the ability to grind out an innings if he’s constantly denied chances to play in the most suitable format. They see him as a hit n giggle merchant and he behaves like one. Go figure.Over Maxwell anyway, the bloke just doesn't have a brain while batting. Yeah he might have benefited by being able to play Shield or County, but in the World Cup he had opportunities to show he can play a substantial innings and failed every single time.
At least omitting starc is better than playing him!
That’s where the majority of his runs have been made. He averages 30 on the red ball part of the tour the 1 100 and 3 fails.Lol. I'm one of the ones that wanted Marnus to play. Just pointing out that he hasn't only made runs against div 2 in one dayers.
I think Starc under a bit of injury cloud don't no why there dropping him his class act taking so many 5fa and why would you leave him if they do leave him out it has to be Hazlewood over Siddle

WhooshHe should have shown it in the WC. Had plenty of chances to build an innings.
Don't we need a left handed bowler making marks for Lyon to bowl into against the English right handers?

They don't have to do anything, cricket selection is as much art as science. I'd pick Bancroft and Labuschagne myself, but there is room in Test cricket for gut selections. Can you not see how contradicting that is. Bangers over Harris on county form yet Wade over Lab on Shield form despite Labs county form being better than Bangers and Harris Shield form being better than Wades.
You have to pick both the blokes who have been in England making first class runs
Starc was one of the bowlers of the world cup and he is getting dropped for a player who played against some suburban 11's and took a few wickets in an intra-club match. This panel deserve Australian of the Year awards if they finally leave Starc out though
Yeah well every time Langer says one thing publicly he does the other. Not a good way to manage a side. He has made a few shocking calls in his time like Finch over Renshaw. Finch was certainly the wrong call in Australia but Renshaw has done nothing to suggest he should be in the team for quite a long time.Yeah well every time Langer says one thing publicly he does the other. Starc was the one bowler England would've been having nightmares about, they will not believe their luck.

If anything, this supports the notion that gut feel calls are needed. Even England, who get lauded for their Smith/Taylor selection process are doing it with Roy.Yeah but when the call was made in the UAE to go with Finch of the back of t20 runs in England over Renshaw making 1400 FC runs with 7 100s it was horrific. Renshaw’s form did turn to absolute s**t during the Shield season and should now be behind Warner, Bancroft, Harris and Burns for an opening spot but at the time that was a terrible call
Couldn’t disagree with you more...England and in particular Jason Roy will have loved Starc playing...he has proven in recent test appearances to be too inconsistent. Roy would love thrashing him through and over the off side.
Starc is a genuine top line one day bowler that cannot be questioned but I think we have better options in test cricket
