Apparently Nathan Batsanis of Port Melbourne is/will be training at Punt Road. Guy wasn't specific as to whether he's in line for a spot with the RFC or reserves. But given tue fct he's a good player at an already good VFL side, he's looking to get drafted to an AFL club.

Not sure what type of player he is, but I think he is a small forward? Would make sense as a rookie spot, particularly now Nahas is gone.

Small midfielder. Was on Port's rookie list when they made the GF last. 2007?

Do you (or anyone else) know his age tigs ?? When you say small…..How small ?? Robbie type small or……? Also weight is important…..If he's small but well muscled that can make a difference...

Small as in short not weight. 178cm roughly?

He'd have to be 25 I reckon.

Actually followed this guy a bit, parents are good friends with his.
Was rookie listed at Port for a few years but never broke through, came back and played really good footy for Port Melbourne, where Hawthorn told him they would select him with their final pick in 2007...and proceeded to pick the one and only Stewy Dew instead! Played some more good footy in the VFL and was told by a few AFL clubs his best bet was to go play in the SANFL, which he dominated in for Norwood perhaps(?) and was favourite for the Magarey Medal which I don't think he ended up winning. After that not sure what he has done perhaps moved back to Victoria

Is he a left foot 70 Yarder like Trent..?
I really like the work lately of Travis Tuck.
Travis Tuck.

No i believe he is right footed and is still a very long kick (kicks 50 with ease although 60 is probably his limit). Although is a great reader of the play off half back and came 4th in the running vertical leap at last years combine.

He moved back to play with port melbourne this season just gone.

i think we could do worse than taking a punt on Jackson Starcevich.

198cm, 94kgs, 20yo - can run, can kick, can mark and tackles well - and knowing his dad, he will be FIT as well. i think he could be a very good KPF. had he played in Victoria i think he would definitely be on an AFL list at the moment. Think a less brittle Ben Griffiths.

Thoughts?

For one of our rookie spots, i believe we should be looking west. As there are really good options there that we could rookie list, with players such as:

Shane Nelson - 176cm 73kg, West perth

Brandon lee- 181cm 78 kg, East perth. Former Essendon rookie who only spent a year on their list, playing two games getting around 18 disposals in each.

Marlon Motlop 180cm 76kg, Peel thunder. Former power draftee, had a standout year for Peel thunder.

Reminds me of Rhys stanley from St Kilda. Wouldn't mind it, looks to have some potential although i'd like to see how far down the draft order Jake kolodjashnij gets to as we might take him if he drops to our pick 50 or 68.

Andy Collins ! Dedicated , a true leader , bleeds yellow and black and will contribute at VFL level as the pure centre man that we all know he is.

Andy Collins has signed as captain-coach of Bridgewater in the Lodden Valley FL. As I have posted in other threads, you only play VFL if you think you might get into the AFL, or you want to take a paycut.

Andy Collins is a terrific human being and is capable of doing both if he so chooses.

Does he find the footy? Footy smarts?

Is this the ex-coach of ours or the ex Tiger/traded Blue that was on our list? If it's the latter, that's quite a young capt/coach they've made!

in that case the "bleeds yellow & Black" line is crap, he supported Carlton as a kid and requested the trade when it happened. so it's a no from me

I reckon we are missing having one or two like Ballantyne and Walters at Freo. Guys that cause havoc but also chase and harass. Too often we play 2 guys to fill the role 1 of those guys at Freo plays. King for defensive pressure and Edwards for the offensive part. A lot of those guys in this draft can rotate off a wing as well.

Agree with this Tigs - Love Kingy but this season he copped a few injuries which prevented him being on the park at times and he's not exactly a spring chicken. I think to improve/progress, we need to upgrade (or with Nahas now gone, bring in some competiton for that spot in the side). I like Edwards as a forward (over a midfielder) given he seems to be one of the better crumbers/dribblers/snap shots at the club. He does do some good work in the middle but hopefully with Vlastuin, Arnot, Conca, Ellis and our future 1st rounder, we will be set for midfield rotations.
