Not really inspired by that clip to be honest, Doesnt look extremely quick or use his pace to break the lines and didnt see alot of the hard stuff to take note of.

Looks like a poor mans white but slightly more inside

Isn't really is it, We must see something in him though because otherwise we wouldn't have invited him to train with us.

Bathie is a bit of a surprise ! But only becos I hadn't heard a thing about it which is good in some ways. Does anyone know anything about him ? Apart from being a former Melbourne Tigers basketballer and being 26 as of about sept 2013 Looks a big lad …...

198cm key fwd, was on cats rookie list but never played a game is all i know

Players that didn't get drafted and now are chance to be picked up in the rookie draft:

1. Eli templeton http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/eli-templeton tigs2010
2. James Battersby http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/james-battersby
2. Nick Bourke http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/nick-bourke

Funny that. I was actually looking for Bourke in the main thing. Surprised those three didn't get drafted.
Allir Allir got drafted, will be exciting to see.
Will also be on the lookout for Dayle Gartlett.

Wouldnt mind Clayton McCartney. Played as a small forward for Stingrays and Vic Country. Now that we got a few in the draft I doubt we will look at him though.

My friends and I are really keen on him.
He is obviously a good all round sportsman, due to his involvement in other sports. I think the success he has had this year, whilst being relatively new to the game shows that he could be a fast and willing learner, as does his involvement in multiple sports.
He won't be an instant player but give him a couple of years focused on football and I reckon he could be a success. Perfect for a rookie spot really, because he could go either way.

I reckon if we do rookie him he could play small forward from day one. He is good in tight, has good acceleration and good goal sense. So let him learn and grow and see how he goes.

Any spring in his heels?? left/right footer?

Ha ha, if you are talking about Grey I think he was picked up by Freo;)

Have to say that I'd be disappointed if they don't select some young rookies with a bit of potential or X-factor, to hopefully grow into something (like Nathan Foley and his pace), rather than older mature body types who have already shown what they are capable of. With 2 older mature bodies in the draft plus Petterd upgrade, you'd hope they have enough AFL bodies on the main list now to cover all emergencies/injuries. Need an eye on the future. A rookie speedster, rookie ruck and an physically underdeveloped athlete or utility type would be ideal. Let's face it, the chance of any of the rookies actually playing a game, let alone being an integral member of a premiership side, is about 5%.

I like the theory of left of field selections. My list would those that have football smarts/capabilities but were overlooked for other reasons. Eg a Ben Cavarra (height) Conlon (injuries) or "in between" height or below standard athletically for their position (can't think of an example).

Cadeyn Williams last year - has skills, cruelled by injury. If he gets his body right, could be a good contributor. No problem with selections like that. Sam Heavyside is one in the last category. Short, not very quick, but gets lots of it at every level and looks a 'natural'.

Hope we rookie a ruckman. With Lade and Bailey at Punt Rd, this would seems to me a no brainer.

I thought someone would definitely take a punt on Conlon, I'd rookie him irrespective of what the docs say (maybe not :p)

Darcy Cameron is your man - Height: 203cm, Weight: 98kg, DOB: 18/07/1995

Worth a 1 year punt. His combine was poor according to _kp_ I think it was. Rookie him for a year and see if he has the desire to improve that area or not.
