What Freo get out of this entirely depends on how badly GWS want to get rid of the remaining 5 years of his million per year deal. This will be like Will Brodie but times 10.

I know this is a bit off topic, but considering you have three picks in the first round (pretty much) would you make a play for Logan Mcdonald?

I don't think there's any offer that could be made to prise McDonald from the Swans.

That said, my mind actually went to McDonald too.

It won't happen, but IF Fremantle somehow pulled Coniglio for chips, then they could literally trade their entire draft away for McDonald if need be...

Their team on paper would be huge.

Its an interesting scenario. Lobb still has two years I think, but hasn't really lived up to the promise. But he is still a KPP who can play forward and ruck, and even the not so good ones have reasonable value. I have no idea how this deal gets brokered; he isn't worth a high pick in terms of playing ability, but he has two years left on good money, so economy wise he is.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out!

Mcdonald was 100% picked as the Franklin replacement, however there was always an element of flight risk with him, especially at my club, who overlooked him.

He isnt worth much more than he was drafted for, so pick 6 and a bit extra could get it done, but it obviously comes down to him wanting to head home after just one year.

Twomeys tweet suggest Vic clubs well and truly in the picture aswell

Him willing to take reduced salary would look very appealing for Vic Clubs

Also would mean the offer will be more trade wise

What pick do freo take for him? I still cannot see GWS giving up 13 (15) for a player turning 29

Great sign for freo that he's prepared to take a reduced income to move, changes things
I think he is realistic, there's absolutely no way he gets the 700k offer he got from Freo 4 years ago. He would know his market value is about 200k below that and to actually get to a new club he will have to sacrifice money, but will likely get a longer contract. I don't know how it gets done unless we are given an offer too good to refuse. Hes still a very important player for us structure wise.

With Chol and CCJ gone would Richmond be in the mix at pick 15 ?

Contract re-negotiated, 1.8-2mill over 4yrs ?

With the loss of Cerra and Lobb, 12 months time Mundy and Fyfe getting older I can't see Fremantle doing anything in the next 2-3 years (Sorry Freo, almost my 2nd side)
I can't blame an oppo supporting for having this opinion. Feels like we are forever rebuilding. Just have to hope the draftees we take this year all buy in and want to be fremantle players. The last crop that we have lost, Weller, Cerra Langdon etc have really hurt us. But none seemed like they were Freo people. Need players that want to be at your club and not just for money (Lobb, Hogan).

Depends on how much improvement comes from all the young players we've got over the past few years.

Breaking news:

Player seeks trade from club who still want him...

...more at 6.

More the fact that he went home with the first trade and is still wanted. Let's not pretend that is commonplace.

I reckon if we trade Lobb we could finish bottom 6 next season but will be closer to a premiership with the young core... the gap between the age of tall forwards on the list and the likes of Darcy, Brayshaw and Serong was too large and trading Lobb potentially allows us to bring and provide more opportunity for key forwards closer to the age bracket of the best group of players on our list which are in that 19-23 age bracket. However as Ryan Daniels tweeted we could have 2 million in cap space so if the club pulls the right strings the year after next we may be very very good.

Is it just to me or does Lobb moving back to GWS make less sense than him just staying with the Dockers? The Dockers are severely lacking talls, while GWS have Flynn, Briggs, and Preuss.
