Traded Rory Lobb - [Traded to the Bulldogs for #30 and F2]

Strawman.

Never said that a player nominate a state.

My point is that if the Dogs can’t satisfy Dockers trade requirements. Then Lobb should nominate another team who can satisfy Freo.

Freo does not want him to leave. Would help with Dunkley though.

Do it then. Lets see what clubs think of him when he is out of contract and taken a year off footy at 30-31 years of age
it would be a test and would probably swing player power too much

What are Freo’s trade requirements? At this point, they haven’t even given a price and have said he’s off limits.

Obviously would be different behind closed doors.

It’s like somebody offers you buy your house and you say it’s not on the market.

They up the offer and you say to yourself it’s offers too good to refuse.

Dogs hasn’t made an offer that Fremantle couldn’t refuse.

Once the Jackson trade goes through, this one is pretty easy.

Freo: Sharp
Dogs: Lobb
GC: F2

Lobb equals Sharp now? Would rather keep Lobb for 2023. Much more important for our team structure than Sharp IMO. Freo can make a deal for Sharp independent of Lobb.

Probably needs a few auxiliary picks added but GC are asking a similar price for Sharp as Freo are asking for Lobb.

I think assisting in getting a good young winger in helps more than any pick he dogs can give you outright. Creativity is probably how it gets done by Wednesday and this could be a solution.

I think if the Dunkley Trade goes through and its a Future First and 21 then 21 is going for Lobb. If not he is staying i reckon

Our ITK who is genuinely spot on like 90% of the time has said that Dogs offer is a 3rd rounder

Just can't see this one being done if that was their starting point

If that is the case though, then Lobb should sack Young ASAP because he has clearly lead his client wrong for 2 years in a row

Didn’t a Freo staffer (can’t recall who) already say that the dogs had offered 29 and they wouldn’t take it because it was likely to be bumped back a few picks?

Edit: walls maybe? Could be the media paraphrasing him but I am pretty confident they mentioned the above as if it was a direct quote.

Yep there was an interview early trade week where Freo confirmed early discussions were around our 29 (at the time). Probably the same Freo ITK that has spread the front loaded contract story.

Depends on what the market value is. No guarantee he will be the same player next year. Some players drop off fast when they push 30.

My only stake in this is, I hope the Dogs don't overpay for an older player. :)
Would be mad to overpay, in a similar way to how it would be mad for us to undersell. Or even just to sell him.

There is very little benefit to trade him, and significant benefit in keeping him.

He's structurally important without a replacement and at the end of a front loaded contract chasing his last paycheck.

Firstly, the trade needs to happen after the Jackson situation is resolved. Obviously if Jackson somehow isn't coming then Lobb isn't going. But also we don't want Melbourne to lobby (sic) for the picks.

Pick 11 would clearly get it done likely packaged with other picks bouncing around to make it more credible, and you could have a later first round to offer. That's the ballpark.

Rory Lobb is not worth pick 11 in any shape or form, because he is contracted and a required player, a pick between 15-25 gets it done IMO. Probably overs yes but you know and expect that when trading for a contracted player.

Yeah just listened and Walls said is based around 31, wonder if the dogs were wanting something back which makes it more a 3rd round type offer
TBH I suspect we try and trade it up a few spots, or add a sweetener to it, then up our offer to Freo for Lobb.

Does he still go for hangers but miss 95% of them? We don't have someone like that, send him back.
His marking is still ok. He just has a one-wood though: kick it long down the line every single time. Makes it predictable for other teams.

Too late Dogs, trade radio random dude just said we are swapping him for Logan McDonald.
Damn.
Well, trade radio callers are never ever wrong. And I wish SEN had more ads.
