Yeah.

As I said I was even leaning towards ross was not going to be the guy long term-I genuinely felt we’d make finals next year , whether we’d finish high enough /game play change enough to warrant a further extension of ross is another question.

But this generally smacks of clubs board who when faced with decisions to hold firm and back themselves in(let’s face it this is not a bolten/Richardson obvious failure scenario) absolutely blinked in the face outward pressure.

I get the feeling the board felt they just had to be seen to be doing something/anything

That’s never been the sign of a successful football club.

For a start anyway nothing will change until they fix our recruiting and list management.
and S&C

That would encourage the coach to make short-term decisions with the list, like trade away future picks for someone that will help him squeeze into an elimination final.

The coach isn’t involved in trades or lost management

SO to all the simple minded people who told us passionate fans to go support the mob up the road because they didnt like our opinion, can we get an apology

Apology for what? This could just as easily ruin the club as it could make it. Knifes edge stuff

For being arse hats, just because we had a negative opinion of the club/coach and rightfully so they questioned our support and told us to GO join the mob up the road

Why sack the coach and leave non functioning admin and footy departments untouched. If they don't shake up the fitness and recruiting deptmartments 3 years down the track it will be the same story, coach sacked. It's been the same since our inception and the coaches have suffered the consequence . We are a club that sacks coaches to no avail. We still haven't had success.
We should be burning down the club to get the footy dept,s right because sacking coach after coach sure hasn't worked.

That wasn't your point though was it.

I'm not now or ever one of those people who'd say shit like that but I could understand the angst if you (or others hypothetically) said you wanted the team to get flogged so Lyon would be closer to gone. That would actually make you a terrible "supporter" (quotation marks needed because at that point you're actually doing the opposite of supporting). This sadly was not a rare phenomenon and one I personally can't stand.

But if you were called that for merely the difference of opinion then you have a good point and an apology would be warranted (in as much as it would be on an internet forum).

I'm amazed how many people (even if it is just 20-30%) think this was a rash/strange/bad/risky decision. I really wonder what you are watching when you see us play. Lyon had a great run, but his time with us has very clearly been up for a long while.
7 year itch (well 7.95 year itch)
