My two highlights:

Jarrod Berry briefly joining in the crowd chant.

The end of the video, where after the celebration there's a business-like - 'Go straight to the meeting room now'.

On to next week.

What we did 2017 - failed to execute any game plan

What we did 2018 - executed a game plan often though rarely for an entire game

What we did 2019 game 1 - executed two game plans over the entire game. That is massive - we started with a plan that, had we kicked straight, wasn't too bad. But then we changed plan based on how the play was unfolding. Our players changed what they were doing and executed the new plan near enough to perfectly.

This is massive. The teams that win are those that are flexible and responsive during games. It shows how much education and learning has occurred in past few years. It also shows we should have faith in fagan's tactical nous.

I think you've hit a very important nail on the head here. This is a reason that makes the lid off but hovering somewhere near the cumulonimbus cloud line. The potential in this side is arguably better than any other in the league and the fact they can already adapt and learn (and have an excellent coach calling the shots) is extremely exciting. Finals this year will not be a surprise at all if they can play to some semblance of their potential.

The concern is consistency and whether or not they can stay grounded. The Lions should easily account for Norths but this sort of expectation and favouritism is not something these kids are accustomed to at all.

There's plenty of footage that can be used to help them stay grounded. Unfortunately

If you start posting sensational opinions on our political thread in The Den I will know.

Ahaha, I won't :)

It was a thread on another part of these forums (ie, not in the Lions area) which forced me to disappear for 18 months, so I'm staying firmly away from there. I'm invoking the old "dinner table" rule of my youth in the 70's....no politics or religion at the dinner table :D

But I had to enjoy the footy with you all, since I knew full well during the first half of the year that there'd be melts and so forth as we slumped to a few defeats.

Someone around here had to believe, before believing became cool :p

And there's nine tenths of **** all to do in the Torres when you aren't working :D

I don't have to worry about that either any longer, I was permanently banned from most parts of non footy/sport related topics on Big Footy over a year ago now, do not miss it at all.
