Give Lycett a break, he set it up in the third quarter; being his first AFL game in nearly a year.Wow, didn’t see that coming.
What a second half, midfielder’s JFH, Butters, Rozee, Wines
Burton dominated
Why can’t Lycett play with that intent every week.
Marshall is on fire.
Bergman owned the wing.
So many played well.
We owe a lot to Dunkley; had he said yeah (to us), we would have burnt our trade chips but more importantly, it resurrected our long term interest in JHF to a short term need.I was sad when Dunkley said no to us (I still think it's weird to leave your home state to be with your sister) but thank god it resulted in the better and younger JHF instead
It's an easy mistake to make, I myself mistook my wife for Jason Horne-Francis last nightEasy to tell them apart. Bergman is an inch and a half taller.
Good team have about 10 players going into their mid-field; players like Boak & SPP will supplement our mid-field at times. The Boak stuff is ridiculous. He's finished top 2 in the B&F the last 4 years. Yeah the young guys looked good today but it was round one, a nice dry track, up against an opposition that didn't fire a shot. It's a long season, there will be injuries, things will get tougher. Boak will still play a big role.
As it turns out, ice was one of the worst treatments (for JHFs vascular blockages leg problem). And a little shout out to our medical team who made the right call on JHF leg issues that plagued his days at North.
They recognised his quivering leg and fatigue symptoms were not as North declared publicly - a lack of training intensity and commitment to post game protocols- but a medical issue related to vascular blockages, where a surgical solution was needed.
Early days but the kid finally showed his capabilities today.
Another example of the PAFC making the right calls (un-noticed) off field.
Dunkley 29 meters gained. Last thing our midfield needed. We owe a lot to Dunkley; had he said yeah (to us), we would have burnt our trade chips but more importantly, it resurrected our long term interest in JHF to a short term need.
I was happy for Lycett, he played well, I just hope he keeps it up.Give Lycett a break, he set it up in the third quarter; being his first AFL game in nearly a year.
Both he Fanta and Charlie will be much better for the run.
Bergman may morph into a Mr Fixit go-anywhere-player; we have Sinn + others waiting in the wings.
Rubbish: Drew is our only defensive mid-field and a tagger; strategetly, he should always be picked.Do you want to win or play the 24 year old?
Close decision?
Drew had 20 disposals, 8 contested, 4 kicks and 3 clearances today playing for a dominant midfield with a rejuvenated Lycett in ruck
Boak averaged 27 disposals, 12 contested, 12, kicks, and 6 clearances last season playing for a midfield that got beaten more often than not with Finlayson doing most of the ruck work.
Please play the geriatric.
Murdoch press is anti Labour and the working class, Will always print some rubbish story about the Crows.I’m interpreting this as the Tiser’s defence of the stuff up. A quote from their website.
They look so alike that even some Port Adelaide fans at times had trouble telling the difference between recruit Jason Horne-Francis (below left) and teammate Miles Bergman during the Power's big win over Brisbane.
It was Butters who did the defensive midfield job in the third quarter. He moved onto Dunkley and shutdown his clearances.Rubbish: Drew is our only defensive mid-field and a tagger; strategetly, he should always be picked.
Whem Lycett went berserk in the third quarter, Drew was on the bench.

This happens every round in the AFL, because it's Port they make a big deal out of it. What about the lop sided free kick count that favoured the visiting team?
AFL score review system lashed after woeful error: 'What's the point?'
Port Adelaide benefited from an AFL score review error, with a camera angle showing a goal was clearly touched unused.
'What's the point': AFL fans left raging over 'disgraceful' scenes
The Power thumped Brisbane, but the simple score review mistake left footy fans fuming. Read more here.au.yahoo.com
Exactly. How anyone can say that it was “clearly touched” is beyond me. Inconclusive so it goes to umpires call.
It was always going to take Port getting the benefit of a dodgy call for them to make a big deal about it. Funny you mention that, it's the example I used when explaining it to the Misso. It was always going to take Port getting the benefit of a dodgy call for them to make a big deal about it. Remember when Jenkins shot clearly hit the post?
Agree - but I refuse to 'like' anything Graham Cornes says on principle
