Fair enough, didn't know about the praccy match

Still only 1 emg feels unnecessarily short

Pretty normal. Given there was no footy last week I can see why they’d want as many of the emergencies as possible to get some WAFL minutes this weekend.

Where's Wally Culley?

Its not like we have a tendency for random late in the week injuries, should be fine. ;) Didn't we lose someone in the warm-up before the North game last year?

Guess I was just holding out hope, see no reason why Culley shouldn't be playing seniors

Culley situation feels Lewis Jetta-esque.
Impossible for him to go from being the MVP of the preseason to being dead to Simmo after one practice game.
Something must've been happened off-field.
Culley not even an emergency!
How are West & Clark ahead of him?
Why is Hough seemingly on the outer as well despite just signing a contract extension?
How is Witho a better option in defence?
I'm all for playing youth but how is Long ahead of Petch?
Protecting him from potential injury?
Simmo playing silly buggers with his selections.

Thats Culley isn't even an emergency should raise red flags. He either has to be secretly injured, or is being disciplined

There is no valid reason why he shouldn't have been named at least as an emergency in that squad

OK, while happy to see Hunt, Chesser, Long and Ginbey in the team, I am super confused as to why no Culley or Hough.
All reports and club statements had Culley ripping it up and Hough (with Bazzo) was one of the few shining lights in 2022.
I really would have had those guys ahead of O'Neill, West and Witherden.

Thumper: Who's had the best preseason?

Oscar Allen: I think Jai Culley is probably a common name that's been popping up.

Thumper: I have a feeling that he was just an absolute demon in this off season. To the point of them (club) probably telling him you've got to reign it back.

OA: Yeah he is such a well built guy, and mentally he is so switched onto everything that he needs to do and I think coming from a background where he missed the national draft and then rookie pick up in the MSD was a bit of a fire starter and he said 'right, watch what I can do now. People have written me off, watch what I'm going to do now and prove you wrong'.

That's something that he started in great vein and I'm hoping that he gets an opportunity early this year to show what he can do.

👀 Thumpers comment the most interesting of all that.

No offence to Hough but I could have been a shining light in 2022.

Petch as the sub seems like a good fit - bring his speed in when it will do the most damage.

Love to see Ginbey, Chess and Long named on field.

So basically...

Ever since Squashkent said Culley was shit, he's;

1) Been dropped from the Senior team to play in the magoos for the 2nd pre season game.

2) Not been acknowledged or spoken about by the club despite all the hype and player nominations of him having a huge pre season and set for a big year..

3) Officially not named for round 1 of the AFL season, and not even listed as an emergency, despite Yeo being out. Still not spoken about by the club either..

Oh good we’re back with the “I’m happy with 21 of the 22 but one player’s in I don’t agree with so Simmo’s lost the plot” phenomenon. That’s one thing you miss over the off season.

He's overworked himself and needs to be rested for his own good?

Hopefully just a load management thing. Maybe he's at a higher risk of injury from the workload.

But if he comes back with a shaved head, maybe something else.

Or something something, Simmo's Pride.
