Hopefully just a load management thing. Maybe he's at a higher risk of injury from the workload.

But if he comes back with a shaved head, maybe something else.

Connor West cut his hair and got a seat on the plane.

Culley still has his dreads (I assume) and got left behind.

Might be something in this.

Maybe he was told to wind it back and didn’t? Hence a bit of discipline applied.

Very interesting lineup for N Mel. No Goldstein, questionable backline?

Eagles should win by at least 6 goals.

I’m a little shocked.

I don’t think it’s a best 22. It’s a best 22 for the conditions taking into account injuries.

Bonar will have to take either darling or Allen and that is concerning.

Something I floated earlier in the week. Or rather he didn't disclose a niggle/played through because he was desperate to get a run and now he's benched because that was not a team first action.

Our spine looks ok. Not so sure about run and carry, and defencive pressure across the team. A win (we should) will build confidence for the list and is super important. Confidence breads run.

Oh good we’re back with the “I’m happy with 21 of the 22 but one player’s in I don’t agree with so Simmo’s lost the plot” phenomenon. That’s one thing you miss over the off season.

In essence it’s a good side

Would’ve preferred Petch to Witherden in the 22 though due to his pace

Either Witherden or O’Neill gets a start they wouldn’t have got if Yeo was fit

And as much as I’d have liked to see Culley in the team, he only gets in ahead of O’Neill (or Ginbey/Chesser) and O’Neill showed as much, if not more, in the Port game

Gaff and Sheed were always going to play round 1 provided they were fit so let’s wait a couple of games before bitching about their selection

I’m very disappointed Hough isn’t seen as a starting player to begin the year. One of the few who should have accumulated some credit$ last season.

Also would like to see Petch in.

A decent side but a couple of oddities. Witherden should probably buy a lotto ticket.

Doubt it. Bonar doesn‘t have the knee to jump!?
Clarkson might think he has the 2015 Hawthorn squad with short defence.

Xerri played better than Goldy in the pre-season games, it is more of a surprised we didn't pick a second ruckman either CCJ or Goldy so it seems we will rely on Comben who is skinny and not a ruckman. I guess if NN was expected to play we might have picked a second ruckman.

The backline isn't ideal, McKay is injured and Corr is recovering from an injury. Darling and Allen were never prolific goal kickers whilst Kennedy was there, it will be interesting to see how they go now that they become more of a focus.

Some nuffies said culley is suspended because of a wafl incident last year?

So basically...

Ever since Squashkent said Culley was s**t, he's;

1) Been dropped from the Senior team to play in the magoos for the 2nd pre season game.

2) Not been acknowledged or spoken about by the club despite all the hype and player nominations of him having a huge pre season and set for a big year..

3) Officially not named for round 1 of the AFL season, and not even listed as an emergency, despite Yeo being out. Still not spoken about by the club either..

Do you want the winning lotto numbers next, campaigner?

Some nuffies said culley is suspended because of a wafl incident last year?

West Coast midfielder Jai Culley has accepted a reprimand for striking during the WAFL Eagles’ last home and away game against Claremont on Saturday.
Culley was reported for an incident involving the Tigers’ Benjamin Elliot at Revo Fitness Stadium.
It was assessed as a low-level offence based on the available evidence, resulting in a reprimand with an early guilty plea and Culley will be available for the start of next season.
