Problem is we’re not exactly short of options any more, and we arguably have a number that are better for us to play in the long term.

Would we rather Gunston in the forward pocket or Watson/Butler/Ginnivan or even Ramsden or DGB?

Ramsden or DGB been saying this since we picked him up they are the future Gunston isn’t.

Hopefully he spends more time at Box Hill teaching the kids that will one day be part of our next premiership team as a on field coach.

Yes that is true.

But definitely not as many mid sized lead and mark forwards as there used to be.

Going even further back than Dixon and Williams we had Paul Hudson, Tony Hall, etc.

I still think there is a place for this type of player though, someone who can play second fiddle to the big boys up forward and bob up every now and again with a five goal bag (Willow was good at that).

It depends how big their hands are. I think

I want him to play because I don't want any excuses when we pump them

I’d actually prefer he played than Goldy.

Draper is good for 11 disposals and endless fawning, that’s about it.

Yeah, he’s not that bad, but he’s also not as good as he’s hyped up to be.

Yep. He plays a physical brand too. But I believe Ned can get over the top of him and give us first use.

Yeah, possibly Gunston in or even another runner. But I have Frost playing small defender or taking Stringer. Would just have to replace with another defender.

Hard to argue with. Maybe frost is not needed and Gunston or Mackenzie come in. I would drop Frost push weddle back and play mackenzie or Ward on the wing.

My issue is that Weddle would be soundly beaten by Stringer - he just isn't great (yet) in a defensive role.
