L Brown from Adelaide probably won't play round one due to an interupted pre-season but should play consistantly once he gets a game. His DEF/MID DP link is also tempting. Could come in very handy when upgrading def & midfield..

Yeah I had him previously as there was some hype but dropped him because I couldnt see him getting a game for a while with his interrupted preseason... not sold on when he will come into the side and i dont really want a rookie of mine getting zeros while there are others...

I'm not going to worry about getting a few extra points by putting someone on the field that isn't even playing, what if they don't end up getting a game until round 10 or something? Too risky. I only have one rookie defender on the field anyway, which is Ellis, and I'd back him to get close to Bugg's score. I'd rather get a rookie that you know is going to play most games than getting a rookie that you're not sure about just to gain a few extra points.

Good points. As I have both Morris and Ellis as well (like everyone) ill just stick with them. Still tempted to put either of them on the field if they arent named to pick up Buggs score.

For sure. Magner is starting on the field for me even if he is named as the sub in Rd 1.

Not convinced that there are other backline & forward rooks that will crack the tonne in their first game though..at least the odds of them doing it are slim. So am keen to make Bugg & Kennedy's scores count.

A rookie will crack a ton.

I'm not going to name all the top chances, you can figure that out yourself.

I'd be disappointed if I couldn't get at least another 100+ from a first gamer this round.

The opposite is more likely. He'll play round one but will probably miss games.

Why in Christ's name would you have Mumford as captain..in Rd1?

It was a risk - but hoped he would give Giles a bath. Sadly, he and most of the Syd premos didn't look interested. Still a better captain option than Goodes.

I was thinking about putting the C on Mummy (only for a minute). I thought he was going to be up around the 120-130 mark.

Everyone, looking at who you have left to play, what score do you think you will get for this round? And what will you be happy with?

Of course anything could happen but i added mine up going off these averages:

Midfield premiums (Pendles, Ablett, Mitchell, Murphy, Watson): Combined average 110

Forward premiums (Franklin, Fyfe, Martin): Combine average 100

Premium backs (Goddard, Birchall, Deledio): Combine average 100

Rookies: 60

Midpricers: Duffield 80, Hargrave 70, Porplizia 60

If all that happens then i will end up with 2108. I think it's realistic enough.

For the sake of maybe an extra 50 points, the emergency loophole is fraught with danger IMO. If you have say 4 of:

Kennedy
Giles
Greene
McDonald
Bugg
Hampton

then be satisfied in the knowledge that you have (so far) picked well with your initial GWS rookies.

The above said, I wouldn't be racing out to pick up the ones you missed. Sheedy's rotation policy will be the great leveler here.

Didn't have Kennedy set as emergency in the midfield because i was trying to go for the Goodes VC loophole. Wanted to see how he went before playing Magner on the ground. Thought that for it to be worth using the captain loophole both Goodes and Kennedy would need to have good games for me to play Magner on the ground. If Goodes smashed it yet Kennedy had a quiet one it would have defeated the point of using the loophole in the first place. Ended up just outsmarting myself

You can only get Bugg's score if you made him one of your 3 emergencies. If you did that, then you can get his score only if one of your starting back 7 players does not play in Rd 1.

There is no VC loophole this year though.
