Is Jarrod Waite definatley playing forward this year?

Can dominate when forward and I think he would be a better option than Kruezer at FF.

Started up forward today and was ok without a hell of a lot of opportunity. Will likely play as 3rd tall back or forward early on. Kreuzer will be in the ruck mostly.

If anyone posting here has any connections at the club, could you please get a message to Ratts not to play Joe Anderson in the 1s this year ?
Thanks.

+1, he was horribad today, even heard the almighty juddy yelling at him at one point in the 3rd. McLean was pretty bad too.

Anyone know how bad scotland was hurt? He came off in the 2nd looking like he'd dislocated his left shoulder, but came back out after half time so dunno.

What's with Russel kicking in? Makes me cringe. Waite will play down back, we have no choice. Bower isn't a tall, he's a stopgap tall for when someone is hurt or having an off day.

No Houlihan in peoples best 22? I thought he was close to best today.

B:Armfield: Jamison: Russell

HB:Thornton: Austin: Bower

C:Kreuzer: Scotland: Simpson

HF:Robinson: Henderson: Betts
F:Yarran: O'hailpin: Waite

Foll:Hampson: Gibbs: Murphy

INT:Warnock: Davies: MClean: Hadley

Will probably look a little something like this:

FB: Joseph Jamison Thornton
HB: Scotland Bower Russell
C: Simpson Mclean Walker
HF: Yarran Henderson Robinson
F: Waite Ohailpin Betts
R: Kreuzer Murphy Gibbs

I: Warnock Carrazzo Grigg Houlihan

Emg: Hadley Hampson Browne

Grigg will probably just get the nod over Hadley, but the MC might go the other way, but will put pressure on thse boys to perform straight away.

Joseph to be used as a small defender for a round or two whilst Army gets some fitness.

Austin to come in soon after.

Hampson a chance if things dont go well. MC may try 3 ruckman but are leaning towards 2 at this stage.

....I would have thought that early rounds are just as important as any others.

So you think 4 wins at the start of the season is just as important as 4 wins leading into the finals series with a team hitting top-form and peak fitness. Are you really that stupid? Anyway, your ignorance on basic football matters is not relevant to this thread - it's just a humerous sideshow. This thread is about Round 1 selection predictions.

Essendon easy win over Richmond in the practice match today.

Final Score: Essendon 23.9.147, Richmond 11.6.72
Richmond goals: Riewoldt 2, Morton 2, Roberts 2, Hislop 2, Nason, Nahas, Vickery
(sorry pasted from richmond site and they didn;t included the extensive goal kickers list from essendon)

Come on round 1!

I've seen better thngs from Hammer than Warnock so far. 206 has to earn his spot.

Grigg i'm worried about, sprays it. Lucas might get a gig ahead of him.

Hi BIB,

Any word on where Austin is likely to fit in this year? Many are placing him at CHB but wouldn't be surprised to see him as a forward option. He's meant to be a bit feisty, no? We need a bit of forward line agro!

How is Army coming along?

Is Hampson likely to be developed purely as a forward in the Bullants or will he have to continue ruck duties?

Very difficult decision with Grigg. What do the MC see his role as?

Army is coming along alright. They are just getting him to 100%. Wont play round 1 though, well thats what he said, im gathering just cos they wil want him to get some match fitness up. hes hoping to get a gig in round 2.

Hasnt played one minute of football so far this season. Looks to be aiming for a VFL return in Rd 1. MC have put in 2 to 3 years of KPD into him, and wont be changing that any time soon. No real spot for him in the forward line, and has shown alot more as a defender. The MC do like him, and when he is fit, he will be in the Navy Blue alot more than he is in Red.

How is Army coming along?
Nicely. Was one of the better players for the Bullants yesterday. Luckily, the Ants do have another match this coming Friday, so if he can show he is match fit, and show some good form, he will be a strong chance for Rd 1. He is an MC lovechild. If he doesnt come up for Rd 1, Joseph will be used as the small defender. MC gave Browne the chance to earn his spot for Rd 1, but it appears he will fall short.

Is Hampson likely to be developed purely as a forward in the Bullants or will he have to continue ruck duties? He will play a bit of both. Unlikely he will be in the Seniors come Rd 1, but no doubt he will play more games in the Seniors than in the reserves this year. He isnt a pure forward, but will spend more time up there.

Very difficult decision with Grigg. What do the MC see his role as?
Inside Midfielder. 25 possesions, 4 clearances, 5 tackles type of player.

I quite like the idea of this. He's good at getting a handball out of a tight situation. Inside mid who can run like him would be fantastic to have :thumbsu:

strange as he was perplexed for not getting the nod at Leederville...he is confused himself

Hardwick praised his teams efforts after that result. Seems that anything under a 100 point loss is viewed as a "win" down at Tigerland.

Richmond really will be lucky to win a game this year. They have little to no hurt factor, and learning a new game plan with already deplorable skills makes for a very long 2010 IMO.
