Round 10 Discussion & Venting...

...I wasn't gonna say anything until the byes (in case I jinxed it), but I was able to reinstate it, so I just brought in Dunc and said 'f*ck it' lets have some fun :p

Of course I ended up with my second best round of the season, haha. Only brought it back because of the absolute carnage, and my team not copping a hell of a lot of it. Downgraded, got in Dunc and left myself with 303K for Whit next week, so couldn't resist. Rank is still over 10K, but after getting rid of Newnes, benching Danger and Williams going out, most of my 'spuds' are gone now

The lesson here is, too much caring about fantasy, is not the way to go. Literally only looked at my team for the first time this weekend tonight, and was like '...hahaha...of course that would happen'

1830 / 17 (C) Billings, Gawn, Walsh, Bewley and Hore to come... No Grundy either (which has been my biggest mistake all season)
Always thought you had a good team...no Grundy is the only issue but ROB going very well for you. Like I said, just stick with it until the byes, that's when the game enters a whole new level which would suit you no doubt.

It was driving me crazy just how much bad luck I was having, because I thought the same too. It finally all 'clicked' this week. Actually kinda happy it all happened, because I realized that a lot of us really do take it too seriously, and it sucks a lot of the fun out of it when (personally) I'm just ranting and raving and not actually enjoying what is essentially a game that's supposed to be 'leisurely.'

Seeing everyone cop all of Hayes, Drew, Setters, Williams, Crouch, Danger etc. made me realize that this game is too unpredictable to play 'well.' You just need to get the players you think are the best, and enjoy watching them. Duncan is one of my faves, on and off the field, so he epitomizes that notion, IMO.

Was almost cathartic deleting my team and playing around with my partner's 'B team' that also did really well this week. Gonna do that again next year, and not worry about trying to win, as it's a lot better having one 'serious' side and one 'f*ck around* side

Literally the only bad player I had this week was the one who I've loved all season - Boak - which is just so fantasy :p

I think I ****ed myself up this year with having my partners team and my own in both Fantasy and SC, tis fun but doing my head in.

Currently 15/1624(C)....with Danger, Crouch and Williams benched.

Means I have Answerth, Gibbons, Hore, Walsh, Spudshaw, Marshall and Cripps to come....Woe is me

Danger and Crouch on the bench adds another hundred points or so, so it's not all bad. I honestly thought that would be the case, but my partner's team has been heaps of fun. Only shame is, is I created it in Round 2, yet still ranked inside 50,000

If Bray goes 90, Answerth and Gibbons go at least 50 each, Walsh goes 80 and Marshall goes 90, with Cripps getting a 110, you should still end up with a score around 2100 or so. That'd be about par from what I've seen this round :)

Don't worry mate, he's missing a few chromosomes, so acting like a knob comes naturally to him

Find it hilarious too, because Newnes and Sheed had role changes, and Selwood got traded out in Round 1 to Lloyd, which I've said multiple times I got wrong. When played in their positions, Newnes and Sheed are 90 av and 105 av respectively, and Sheed is currently averaging 99.5 after starting at 74. Traded him out, but he hasn't been a bad pick this year by any stretch.

Absolute epitomization of the term 'keyboard warrior.' Have no doubt he'd get his head kicked in if he acted like this in real life

Injury concerns continue to mount for me.. Rockliff-out, Laird-test, Scrimshaw-test... with no cover on the pine... Williams, M Crouch, Drama, and Drew, Setterfield and Relton McI... hoping I get some luck with team sheets in the near future.

I've gotta hope that Brayshaws 39 in the last qtr last round was the beginning of a return to form. Haha i'm screwed.

Edit: how inconsistent is the umpiring this year? making the contest less watchable every week.

Good to have you back mate! The board is a better place with you 👍🏻

Gonna be tight! All down to Bewley I think. In both you should be around 50 behind heading into Freo v BL game.

1,698

Whitfield 120
Cripps 120
Hore 80
Brayshaw 85
Lockhart 60
Walsh 80
Billings 90

= 2,333
I'm not confident my Melbourne boys will hit those numbers. Nor Walsh or Billings. Basically can only trust Whit and Cripps!

I'm not normally such a pessimistic person, but this game is far too cruel far too often!
