The build up to this game seems no different to the last 10 years, underdogs but with a sniff of confidence if things go right. Think we’re in for another flogging!

What I hope to happen
In: Ridley, Wanganeen
Out: Baldwin (omit), Menzie (omit)

B: McGrath Ridley Hind
HB: Redman Zerk-Thatcher Heppell
C: Durham Merrett Martin
HF: Perkins Weideman Davey
F: Stringer Langford McDonald-Tipungwuti
R: Draper Shiel Setterfield
In: Hobbs Caldwell Phillips D'Ambrosio
Sub: Wanganeen

Richmond only play Riewoldt and Miller as talls with Samson sometimes resting forward. So BZT and Ridley should provide adequate coverage with Langford swinging back if required. Having Hind for some leg speed will be required, but he has to defend better than he did on Saturday.

Wanganeen for Menzie is part form (Wanganeen had 5 tackles and some good pressure in a loss) and also Indigenous round related. Having Walla, Davey and Wanganeen on Sir Doug Nicholls round would be fun.
They have Nank back. So it will be Miller, Riewoldt and the ruck

There isn't a lot of form to bring in. The injury position cascades down and the VFL team are losing badly. And most of the mids in the VFL aren't on our AFL list. Only potential options would be Snelling (at least he tackles), Bryan (i really want to replace Phillips), Montgomerie (unlikely if Ridley back) and Tex at a stretch (he had 7 possessions and a goal).

Bryan, Montgomerie and Tex really should be playing. Montgomerie especially - if Nank comes back this week, they will absolutely slaughter us up forward

Feels like this game is a test for Brad Scott and any changes he's made to our gameplan. It will be an interesting watch as Truck has a lot of inside knowledge on our players so how will Brad counter that? Last week we looked better when we held onto the ball and hit up short targets by foot. Need to have the confidence to do that for longer and play a territory game as we are ok at the clearances. The handball to a teammate under pressure undid us last week as it has so many times over the last 5 years. Then when we used the long bail out kick it was straight back in Brisbanes hands. If we go long we need to be set up to at least halve the contest. 16 extra turnovers compared to Brisbane last week. Richmond will be waiting for the same

Where? Even the AFL website said he should be available.
It was in the bottom of one article I read with the quote coming from the club. He had delayed concussion so the 12 days is from when he was diagnosed.
Can not find the article but I am pretty sure it was on twitter somewhere.

I personally wouldn’t be forming a game plan based on whether or not Truck would pull it apart as an assistant coach.

To counter this are we looking for wins now and short term gain over the long game where we are working to a specific game plan ? This year all I wanted to see was improved effort week in and week out and some signs we are buying into the defensive game plan. We have done that so far. Personally I do not want to see us playing a slow game plan just to beat Richmond this week. I want to see them improve the game plan they have used all season. Taking the short kicks but also improving the handball game. As far as Truck having a lot of inside info on our players , that is IMO irrelevant . Every club has detailed info on the opposition . The game plan we are using is nothing that requires a lot of unpicking either.

I know it's Scott's first year, but I think we have a team that should be at least competing very well in this game, if not winning it.

Richmond should be an easier team to play against than either Port, Collingwood, Melb, Brisbane or a proper strength Geelong.

longest ever winning streak in the AFL is on the cards for the Tigers
Currently at 13 in a row
Yep, Sadly puts the pressure more on us than them. Just another game for them and if they win, yay for them and sucks to be us. For us we've got the "gee I don't want to be those guys" tag hanging over us.

its like the finals twitter thing.

the pressure should be from expecting to win, rather than the optics of a loss
we need to build to that point.

I agree with the "should" however with such a run of outs I have no doubt it'd be playing on the mind of some (maybe many).

Not forming a new plan, executing the one we have been going with better decision making. Eg, when using the handball, make sure its not going to invite pressure, if you're kicking long down make sure you have guys there competing (Phillips, Weid and Draper were terrible as long down the line targets last week) and when you have the opportunity to use the short kick to maintain possession with some marking, do it. In regards to Truck the inside knowledge he has on our players will be trying to exploit some of their individual weaknesses, not pull apart a gameplan.

Agree. Wasnt suggesting playing a slow gameplan just for this week. Improving decision-making is more what im thinking. Also our talls down the line need to be much more competitive

And they will probably get it...
