Keays in for Berry has been confirmed.

Big loss given our lack of inside mids and he would’ve likely had a defensive role.

Bugger. Don't get to see many games here in Melbourne and always look forward to seeing Bez play up close. My favourite player on our list. Hopefully Keays can take his opportunity with both hands.

And hopefully with the bye imminent as well he gets to rest a bit to freshen up and finish the year strongly.

I hope we win. Cant stand the disrespectful shit on the North board about 'the bears'. The Lion heritage (as im sure the Bears heritage is for queenslanders) is no joke for me and the merger was akin to a death in the family with my lot, so I take real exception to being called the Bears as a joke. It's designed to belittle the significance of the Lions and highlight our irrelevance, might be overly sensitive but.. That's how I feel and I hope we win because of it. Just sucks we wont lol
Well said mate. Don't think u are being overly sensitive at all. Can completely relate to everything u said there. Whole family was absolutely shattered. Most have continued to follow the Lions, but sadly others don't follow any club at all. Great to have blokes like Bulldog Murray to keep the link between Brisbane and Fitzroy though.

Sorry to intrude, but it's possible you may be being a bit sensitive there. But I can understand the reason why.

We have a lot older (40+) posters and alot of them refer to the Lions as the Bears because thats the team that many of them grew up with, in fact many of them are ex-Roy supporters.

I suspect you'd find less people who use the Bears tag maliciously than you do here for "Norf" posters.

Good luck for the game today, always a game I dread as you guys play out of your skins against us most times, it's always a danger game no matter how well we're going at the time.

Lions will always hold a soft spot for me, they've always been my "second team" so to speak, and they were the team my cousin supported before she passed last year.

Keays needs to grab this opportunity with both hands. Had a nice first year, but hasn't stepped up and evolved like some other players since - indeed there are a number of younger guys ahead of him in the pecking order already and he's only 21.

He's not a bad player, but unless he starts to make an impact at AFL level he won't be anything more than a nice depth player in the long-term.

Anything to keep the forcefully neglected legacy of the Bears alive is alright by me.

Just been watching Eric Hipwood missing far too many in practice, 25 metres out, non preferred side 45 degree angle. He’s Just jogged off, hopefully to change his boots.

Positive sign for me 3KZ, usually the boys bang them through the big sticks from everywhere pre game, then go into the game and spray them. Good tactics Eel.

I started supporting Brisbane during our Premiership era, as I grew up with Rugby then League. More recently though I have read the history of the Fitzroy Lions and fell more in love with the club.
