I have no idea who should come in and who should go out. Everyone was below par the whole game with the exception of a few like Brodie & Switta. If it's wet, what difference will it make? If we can't adjust and play better than the last 2 weeks, you might as well play Big Bird and Liberace for all it's worth.

Only a win will get the bad taste out of my mouth from previous 2 weeks.

Gold Coast - yeah we can point to some reasons. Travel. Wet. Due a loss. No forwards. Playing away.

Pies - no excuses. We were deplorable.

I can’t be bothered with in’s and out’s.

Get the bloody balance right.
Totally agree with Cobblers multiple messages IN: a balanced backline. We are mis shapen with 4 talls in the backline: Cox, Logue, Chappie and Pearce. I dont get it when Walker gets dropped for a tall. If Walker gets dropped a Wilson or similar should come in. If Ryan goes down, Hughes should come in etc etc. You dont replace a small with a tall. Only 3 of Cox, Logue, Pearce and Chappie should play at any one time. You can rotate them for all I care.

Same thing is happening up forward: two talls and 5 smalls!!! Who plays with 5 smalls???, its ridiculous and only works in certain conditions. Most of the great teams, including last years Premier (who has Fritsch), (the Hawks had Gunston), have a tallish mobile mid sized dead eye dick half forward flanker. The Pies have found one with the newbie who came on and kicked four against us. Again, I dont care who it is, lets get the structure right then find the personel. We seem to be reinventing the game plan to fit our personel, which is a valid option in some peoples eyes but its not working for us and tends to lend us to being stuck with only one type of game plan. We simply dont have the structural versatility to change it up mid game.

We are realistically unlikely to win the flag this year, lets use the year to experiment and get this right. First move would be to get one of the talented taller backmen up to the wing, Trav and Aish were nowhere tonight on the wing.

I think it’s worthwhile being a bit experimental. We are one dimensional last few weeks. We also need to build quality into the forward flanks and we are stacked in the back line so why not move Chapman - he’s obviously capable.

Out: Banfield, Freddy, Colyer

In: Treacy, Erasmus, Walker

Sturt is also an option instead of Erasmus but I think we need mid coverage as well so Erasmus gets the nod at half forward flank. Treacy b/c a bit of height in the forward line against Melbourne makes sense.

Chapman to play Colyer’s role, Walker to play Chapman’s

This shit is getting ridiculous. He made ONE howler then one where he was one of two players that collided into each other. Other than that, he was the best defender by far. Logue is not getting dropped
Starting to think a few people on here believe that 6 defensive players are supposed to let 0 scores through whilst the majority of their other 12 team mates do a whole bunch of nothing other than fumble and turn the ball over .

Here’s a possible solution.
What can’t Jordan Clark move up to the wing?
Is it because HBF is his Favourite position or what?
He’s not a particularly good defender, though he did mop up well some defensive loose balls tonight.
But I thought he was great in attack with a penetrating kick, probably his best game all season actually.
So why can’t he play on a wing? Fill the hole left by NOD.
Let Walker slot into his place on the HBF.
Balance looks a bit better then.

Pearce was very average tonight but is needed against Melbourne to match up on Tom Mcdonald. Logue can take Ben brown and Ryan go to Fritsch.
Also have to factor in Gawn or Jackson resting forward for stints.
Agree Clarke could be a very good wing option but does that displace Acres or Aish ?

Both offer good transition ( not today ) and Aish very good defensively

Lol Chapman to play colyers role ? They have completely different games and strengths/weaknesses lol

Luke Ryan / Hayden Young / Heath Chapman for mine. One needs to go out and Walker needs to come in.

Personally it’s Ryan.

Out:
Ryan, Banfield, Aish

If you’re surprised at Aish, don’t be, everything he touched turned to shit. Steele Sidebottom annihilated him on the wing. Nathan O’Driscoll is sorely missed. Erasmus on a wing would have been so much better. Aish is Jack of all trades master of none.

In: Walker, Erasmus, Treacy

Walker Pearce Logue
Chapman Cox Clark
Erasmus Mundy Acres
Walters Taberner switkowski
Shultz Treacy Frederick
Darcy Serong Brayshaw
Int: Lobb Young Brodie Colyer

Sub: Sturt

You'd think Walker is the second coming of Fyfe, such is how overrated he is on this board.

I'll be filthy if we drop a kpd for a fairly average fringe rebounder who barely touches it

This. I really don’t see the issue with playing Logue Cox and Pearce. Anyones conceding in the wet while our mids are turning it over flicking it around by handball all game.

The issue is the forward line, not the back 6/7. Almost 100 i50s in 2 weeks for 10 goals.

Haha dropping ryan young or Chapman for Walker. LOL.
Get a grip.

The backline is not working, not rebounding, not intercept marking, not working. Who do you drop? If not Ryan then Cox. Teams are just kicking to grass and we have no answer. The pace in the backline is atrocious. Cox, Young, Ryan are well below average for pace and they are being exposed over and over again.
