I have tried to upgrade as quickly as possible as in a few weeks all the top sides will be full of premiums and getting a jump in the rankings is far harder in my experience.

This week, it was going to be the defense that is upgraded. I have Brown and Hartley who are maxed out but my D5 and D6 are Adams and Tippa, who have been holding their own.

As such, should I downgrade one of Brown/Hartley to Tucker/Collins/Trengrove and upgrade one to Simpson/Boyd/Rance/McVeigh?

or given the success of Adams and Tippa, hold for now and see if trades/money needs to be spent elsewhere?

Here is my team...

I have 15 trades and 85K in cash
I'd get Collins next week, no real pressing issues, nice team.

Your team is looking pretty solid. I would be inclined to sit if I was in your shoes. If anything maybe trade out one or both of brown and Hartley for cash generation but not 100% necessary. Like I say, I'd sit tight

And, your other question- pendles is a must have now that he's back in the guts. At this stage I'm passing on gray so I can fill my last spot with hanners. As good as Gray is, I don't think I'll grab him

Thoughts on sitting tight this week? Then maybe Byrne-Jones to Collins and Smith to Ward next week? Was going to go Macpherson to Mathieson but that's scrapped now.

Sit

Macpherson>Collins
Hartley>McVeigh

Next week
Brown>bubble rookie
Kerridge>Dahl

Rd 13
Menadue/Davis>rookie
Smith>Selwood

Then 6-7 more trades during the byes to try to get to this with 4-5 trades remaining for the run home.

Shaw, Boyd, Rance/Simpson, Laird, McVeigh, Bartel (Brodie, nuff)

Danger, Pendles, Gablett, Selwood, Priddis, Parker, Rocky, Hanners/Gray (Libba, nuff, nuff)

Goldy, Stef (Goetz)

Dusty, Dahl, Lids/Monty, Buddy, Zorko, Hall (Wells, nuff).

Have tried to be aggressive but Rocky, Laird, Stef have meant that I'm treading water and unlikely to improve much at all.

All good trades, and will have your team looking good but from my experience you'll want more than 4 or 5 trades to cover the last 7 weeks

Should I go
Hartley -> Collins
BenKen -> Gray / Dalhaus ( but keep dpp)

Or wait a week as Hartley and BenKen won't lose any cash
And go
Hartley -> Collins
BenKen -> Ward?

I'm hopefully going in with 10-12. I guess we will see. You are right...carnage ensues.

If I can hold to plan to not trade this week, then I will have 17 trades left for 11 rounds. That means only 2 more hold rounds and I can do one up / one down every week from then on.

A lot of people worry about losing ground early but from my experience you can make a huge amount of ground late by having trades for when clubs start putting their guys in for surgery at round 19 etc. but each to their own

My midfield:
Danger, Hanners, Neale, Selwood, Ablett, Rocky, Smith, Dunkley, Mathieson, McPhearson, B Crouch.

Was thinking one trade:
Either Crouch or McPhearson to Tucker via Lonners and next week piss Lonners off.
McPhearson out this week makes a loophole easier this week in mids using Crouch.

??
Thanks

I can not trade and have about 16. I am in a good position but don't want to lose pace. I'll probably just do 1 trade this week (Benken to gray) and then have a look at the kids next week.
