Except we can’t have two of that type in the same side. And Lipinski is a better kick and a better endurance runner. Seriously, what does Fin excel at? What weapons does he have?

I wasn't saying he'd make it in our side

Cox the full time forward & Frampton to follow around Sean Darcy?

Fin wasn't underwhelming in the Eagles game. Kicked 3 goals..played his best ever game, imo.

And then went back to being ordinary last week. The West Coast game was the outlier, not the norm. Unfortunately Cal Macrae is as vanilla as vanilla gets. It seems that the coaches don’t trust him to be able to have a significant impact in shaping the outcome of the matches he plays in.

I am getting a bit spooked by the media circus backing the Dockers. My belief leans towards the young blokes who have gotten the job done in the last couple of weeks, but it would be nice to win tomorrow night, have a wicked weekend, then belt the Dogs going into the big freeze...
We love being the under dogs. Particularly when travelling interstate. Throw in a bit of trash talk from the oppo. And them targeting an ex player.

Usually all positives for us.

It just feels like the kind of game we win.

But what do I know?

I had a sneaky feeling Kreugs was playing!

Cox SUB ?
Frampton to go 2nd ruck ?

Can't have 3 key backs, so someone has to drift forward

Who is Cal Macrae?

Dean is more likely just replacing Markov down back and we want the extra tall like we had with Howe.

He wasn't ready to hold down a key position at AFL level at the start of the season so playing as the 3rd banana behind Moore and Frampton this time should help him find his feet and we see if he's improved after his VFL stint.

The media has simply swallowed helium. They are making high pitched screams about the inevitable victory of the Dockers, but in the end, it all floats away into nothingness. Our boys wont be fazed by helium heads. Our boys will focussed on playing their role in the system, and backing each other in.

So when I got to the hotel room in Perth, I switched on the TV and caught the ch7 sports report, which had Langmuir on for 2 minutes, extolling the plans they have in place to negate Nick.

BTW, the remaining 5 minutes of the sports report were, I kid you not, dedicated to all things Harley Reid, showing all his AFL highlights, an interview and discussion on how he will become the highest paid player etc etc. The hype over here over Harley-really is as big as what’s filtered back to Melbourne.

There’s also a chance of showers late tomorrow, but it’s uncertain what time it’ll arrive.

This is patently untrue. If we lose the third tall defender we have to have someone like Maynard covering one of Jackson, Amiss or Treacy. No thanks.

I can't remember the last time we played with 3 key defenders

Interesting line-up. A wide ranging set of inclusions ranging from experience (Mihocek and McCreery), debutants (Allan and Parker) and a young player trying to establish his AFL career (Dean).

I think if Mihocek and McCreery weren't named, I'd be very worried about our chances here. Those two inclusions give me hope that we'll be able to cover some of our losses adequately.

Hard to know what to expect. The bookies seemed to have jumped off us which is understandable given our injury list, but I'm not one to write this side off after what they've produced under Fly for the last two years. Our system has held up brilliantly regardless of losing personnel so far, and I don't expect it to be any different here.

Big result either way because of how tight the competition is. Win this and we could be in the top 4 depending on the results of other games. Lose this and we'll be struggling to stay in the 8.

Bye rounds start next round so we won't get a good read on the ladder again till after Round 15 when they've concluded. Be nice to win this one though and get some air between us and the cluster of teams jammed on 24 points sitting just below us, especially with the Doggies and Dees in the following 2 rounds.

Hoping for a win but a loss wont be the end of the world given how close the ladder is from 2nd down to 10th.

At worse we'll only be 6pts off 3rd with over half a season still to go.
