I agree, he is currently not to AFL standard but has played just 10 games overall and this was his 2nd game in 2019 (stats taken from the Lions web site - hopefully accurate). Is anyone on this forum seriously saying that 10 games is ample for anyone to get their **** around AFL level? I think more concerning is that Stef isn't exactly a role model of tapping to advantage (or being useful in non-ruck type situations) for Archie to learn from.
No I am saying 6 years on the list is well long enough. His issues at the start are still there.

Unacceptable. Only gave 3 players votes.

No intensity. Second to the footy.
They were first in and hungry and wanted it more.

Hopefully a huge kick in the *****

Rayner 5 kicks ???????????
Archie - inept and un-coordinated

Matho, Lyons and Rayner need jobs in the deli some absolute butchery of the footy

Fair assessment, sounds like you backed the Lions today.

In regards to Archie Smith, you'll honestly see better ruckman in the better local and amateur leagues in Melbourne. Sure Smith may win 70% of the hit outs, but he would be destroyed by those rucks around the ground.

One only needed to look at his set shot effort at the school end last week from 25m out on an angle. He failed to make the distance and completely missed. Is that what you really want from an AFL ruckman? Today even, he is more of a liability around ground than anyone else. He impacts contests that he has no business being in or is generally just a momentum killer. Archie may be a popular clubman, and he looks like he is, but I'm afraid he is not an AFL player. Dylan McLaren, Bart McCulloch or Daniel Murray offered more.

We don't deserve finals yet and that's kind of comforting to have confirmed. We'd be embarassed on the big stage against a good team.

Need to hit the trade table hard over the off season.

As an aside, Archie Smith never should have been selected over Omac. Rayner needs to be dropped for his own sake. Played a momentum destroying 5 minutes today.

Can Eagles ruck?

Edit: auto correct changed ruck to something else.

Cat B rookie. Can't play unless someone gets put on the long-term injury list.

But also, Big O is the obvious player to come in. Dumb that he didn't play this week. He wasn't in incredible form before he got left out last week but he made consistent contests down the line. If we want to play the boundary style of football, we have to halve those aerial contests and Archie was actively detrimental in those.

Spot on.

Sorry but it appears as though the Big O has been given the Big A.

I have said during various games this season that our discipline is poor and that it will cost us a match. Today was that day. Fagan made a big mistake giving Mitch Robbo a free pass on ill discipline. Leads to other players like Archie thinking it's ok to do the same. This poor discipline spread to giving away lots of unnecessary free kicks in second half of second quarter which gave them massive momentum.
