You realise that he just had the highest rated individual pressure game (100.3) of any AFL player this season, and an all time club record 14 tackles?
Might not have got as many kicks as you'd like, but he was doing the heavy lifting for Daicos to run riot in the first half.
Your point still stands, except 'Nard still has the club record for most tackles in a game with 15 vs Geelong R8 2018 ;)

(Do NOT look at the scoreline of that match)

Both our best 22 senior KPPs are injured: McStay, Checkers.

Next in line injured, or returning from injury: Reef, Krueger.

AJ is sadly out of form.

Cox who plays an important forward role, is also injured.

How many spots on a list of 42 do we allocate for KPFs?

Reef and AJ are not KPF so not sure why they are included.

Krueger has not played a full season since he crossed over of which he struggled with injury at Geelong so it was a known issue.

Cox is either hot or so cold as forward he might as well have Igloo as a sponsor.
Imo his best role is a Ruck who rests forward not the other way anyway. But currently Cameron has him covered and we have no other alternative.

Mihocek and McStay are the only 2 genuine reliable KPFs on the list.

McStay done a knee. Mihocek isn't getting younger and injuries mounting for him now.

So of your list we have 2 senior KPF (inj) and 0 developing, and 1 back up injury prone KPF in Kreuger.

So having 1 or 2 18/19 yo young genuine kpf (195 to 200cm) developing in the 2s doesn't hurt and more then enough room. We also lack tall KPDs in the 2s coming through under Moore and co.

When you consider the amount of flankers that have come and gone and some still on the list. I think there's room for a grubowski or a player of similar ilk

Geezus. Do any TV media really understand where we are as a team right now?
I’ve heard Collingwood were “shocked” and “stunned” by the bulldogs last night.
Don’t think any of us fans were surprised by the outcome.

I was certainly surprised by the first quarter, pleasantly. Outside the points that came which I knew would haunt us.

He will usually also split one of his own body parts in the process.

AJ, for all his faults, actually finished the game last night. Which Krueger, for his talents, doesn’t do very often.

Krueger has been subbed out of 4 games in the 9 he’s played.

AJ has been subbed out of 4 games in the 27 he’s played.

That is a concern but AJ is just not there mentally atm and might as well not of played with some of his lack of efforts at stages in that game.

I'd just take the risk and have AJ as sub in case Kreuger does a Kreuger.

I understand your point and see your logic, but the club disagrees with you:

Because they have to list someone there in that position or highlight a recruitment failure in that department of the field. /sarcasm

They are both 3rd medium tall marking options. In old school terms they'd be tall flankers ideally.

Reef was literally recruited as a tall Midfielder.

Shultz could have had four goals at quarter time. Two misses and another failed play on where he should have had had a shot .

Despite that I thought he had a great game. Not sure if he played deeper this week but it suited him. He’s not a high flanker.

I think he has the yips due to the outside pressure getting inside his head.

The voice inside the head can do strange things to people.

Once he kicked one it seemed to calm him there after.

Bit those early misses were costly and some shockers in terms of kickability.

We could do a Dog's 2016 if all the troops are up and running in September.

I think that is hopefully what we are looking at clean bill of health for returning group at the back end of the year.
Dogs also had a similar injury plagued year scraped in finals but as players returned in back half wins kept coming and continued in finals.

We are good enough with a full list. Sydney and GWS my biggest concerns in finals. They tend to match up well on us.

Not overly concerned as the boys had a crack and like many have mentioned, just ran out of legs in the end. The problem of goal kicking accuracy reared its head again but I believe that’ll improve when our players return.

We are still in this and can win it all.

I think the dogs made some counter measures in the guts that swung it. Froze and pushed Nick out of most contests, instead of having pies clear running lanes for Nick by holding the dogs out of the contests.

Kreuger had no problem playing the full VFL game yesterday or 12 VFL games consecutively last year. He is not retained on the list just to make up the numbers.

The social media criticism has been pretty brutal. He needs to dye his hair white and start ducking for free kicks to gain a little love. Maybe some Friday trips to moonee valley

Kreuger has been largely injury free for the past season and a half after a few hiccups early 2023. He’ll always remain accident prone but his worst injury ( a shoulder) is long behind him.

The myth is starting to belie the facts.

He played 7 games in 2022 due to injury.
Did hammies early days before he then did his shoulder in 2023. He did injuries in a lot of his AFL games played.
He then did his hammie in preseason 2024.

So there is no myth. Hehas talent and plays the game how it should be played but there is no doubt he is injury prone.

He needs to be cleaner with both getting the ball and finishing at goal.
Hopefully the nerves diminish and the confidence grows outside the kicking yips that was probably his best game for us.

His effort is A+ including at times having to channel Blairy as the world's shortest KPF with our current injuries.

Having a crack at Ginnivan is fine but for all his flaws Ginni was clutch and very seldom wasted his chances in front of goal. Was also very clean when the ball was there to be won off the deck.
Ginnivan is clearly very immature and needed to learn work rate and looking like team sacrifice.

Yesterday he kicked 2 goals but should have kicked more and was named Hawthorn's third best player on the AFL site. For all his immaturity, he's having a good season.

Gin wasted a pretty important chance on Grand Final day!

I thought Cornes on TRSF was fair - he was shocked we did as well as we did given we fielded half a VFL team.
