According to the MRP results just released, Lenny Hayes has received a reprimand and Sandilands has been cleared. :thumbsu:

While it would have been nice to play the Dockers without Sandi the right decision was made in both instances.

I agree. The right decisions were made in both cases. It will be a great test for Freo this weekend. Some of the Saints players have been in amazing form so I am hoping that we get two of our quality players back in Haze and Silvagni to give us the best chance against the Saints.

As has been said before, the winner of this game will really have put a gap between themselves and the loser of this game.

Good luck and no injuries please.

If Kosi gets back into form when we least expect it, then that will be every week, coz I expect stuff all from him and that's what I get. If the anti kosi complaints are getting boring it's probably because his form has been so consistently poor.
It always seems that the lowest five possession winners every round are the same group of circulating chaff, that can't seem to pull themselves out if the whirlpool created by the flushed toilet ie Geary, Eddy, Stanley, McEvoy, Stevens. Seems its been a while since a young player has demanded inclusion on form. Perhaps Dawson most recently.
Our younger players haven't come on like our imported rejects.

Maybe YOU should show St Kilda players some respect rather than bagging them like this. Perhaps CHOOSE your words more carefully....

I am surprised no one else apart from Plugger (and he was being kind) has spoken up. You are a disgrace....

Just don't sing our club song when we win and these boys do well which they will........

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown: to you.....

You guys will probably be pleased to learn we have lost Chris Mayne for this game and a couple after. Has been playing on a sore ankle apparently and the Club have pulled him for a rest.
We will hopefully replace him with Ben Bucovaz 20 YO from Geelong Falcons. Solid lump of a lad around 188 and 90Kg. Gathered 17 possies, kicked a few goals and layed a good number of tackles last week in the WAFL. Probably the best like for like replacement we have for Mayne.
We are still missing McPharlin, Broughton, Michael Johnson, add Mayne + Haze and Palmer are not 100% so the odds are swinging further toward you IMO.

I just hope McPhee is selected, he should help our chances.:D

Times in St Kilda's bottom five possession winners this year:

Gardiner 8
Dawson, McQualter 6
King, Koschitzke 5
McEvoy 4
Stanley 3
Eddy, Heyne, Armitage, Geary, Schneider 2
Steven, S Fisher, Peake, Clarke, Pattison, Baker, Gram, Riewoldt 1

DarrenR - you didn't even get one of the bottom five possession winners right !

I'm inclined to agree with Sainters66 here, poor form DarrenR, all that negativity and the flushed toilet "whirlpool" imagery - all unnecessary.

Will be a fantastic game. This is definitely our biggest test of the year so far.

I just get the feeling that we need one of Kosi or Stanley to stand up and we could tear this game apart. When the going gets tough, being able to kick it to a tall option can tear open a game (Gardiner is already providing it and if one of these two can do it for 4 qtrs then we'll be looking good).

If this game is tight I have faith in our boys and feel we'll win. But hey I'm an optimist (I think).

Well, the usually unusual events surrounding St Kilda v Freo have started.... Elsaug's leaving St Kilda effective as of yesterday... Brian Royal in the coaching box... what's next?

One of the reasons a player like Milney struggles to string two good games together, is that when he's had a good one, the opposition team see's what he's done the previous week and takes action to prevent it re-occuring.
Coming off a monster game, Fremantle have announced that they are looking at ways to neutralise Milne. I think its a fair bet that he won't be able to take bags of marks on the lead inside the forward 50 this week.
Goddard is also likely to see a lot of attention.
We will be relying more on our other midfielders, and Schnieder and I guess hoping for something from Kosi and Stanley.

Yeah, but SS, this is the great thing about the spread we have. Two weeks ago, Hayes has a blinder, so attention goes to him. Then Joey carves it up because all attention is on Hayes. Next week, all eyes are on Montagna, and Goddard and Milne go nuts. I remember hearing an opposition coach being interviewed just before one of our matches recently, and they asked how they were going to stop the gun player from the week before, and he said, "well, we can't tag all of them - there's just too many great players at the Saints...".

Love it.

rumour has it pav is playing with an injury. if we keep pav, sandilands, barlow, mundy and ballentine quiet we will win.
ballantyne please, he is a hair pulling pinching flog. stevie baker will sort him out.

they should be the ones worrying about stopping Goddard, NDS, Lenny, Montagna, Gilbert and co.

I really hope RL puts Jimmy on the Pav, he touched up Goodes and this I think gave him enormous self belief going into the season. If he could claim Pav's scalp this will have major positive implications for him and the team.
Terrific suggestion, couldn't agree more.IMO Jimmy is clearly the most improved player at the club this season.:thumbsu:

Gwilt seems to be a really offensive player - a lot of the time I noticed his oppenent can run off and find space easily when on him - even against the Roos his opponent was getting a lot of the ball in the forward line.

Not that he is bad offensively but I'd be sticking to someone more mature and sure of himself to take the scalp. I'd go for Pavlich on Goddard - it could be the duel of the year.

We know how good both players are, to negate Pav, a champion with another champion kinda negates the situation. But if we can get one up with a so called "lesser player" ie Jimmy boy, we come out well ahead. Plus the self belief JG would get from it as mentioned would be enormous, plus it gives RL another option. It is time to put Jimmy under the hammer with a big ask, if he comes out intact and does the number on Pav it will be smiles all around. If Pav touches him up.........well I don't want to go there.

No McPharlin, No Broughton.

Their top 4 backline is missing in action.

We win or we choke. Simple as that. Freo can't win with their injuries.
