I'm assuming Harris misses next week so definitely retains that back spot another week. Would be nice if McStay is okay to come back in to play forward.

I think he will be.

We will go some simple changes:

In: Mcstay, Allison/Eagles
Out: O, Bailey/Lester/Andrews

Get Dan back up forward along with Walker and Hipwood and drop Oscar and one of Bailey or Lester (or Andrews if he doesn't get up) for Allison or Eagles depending if we want height or speed.

I would've preferred he went for xrays. With a hit like that I believe it is better to be over cautious than not cautious enough. The jaw could have a hair line fracture. Would rather he had a scan on the head too.

Just to be 100% sure.

Michael close’s hit recently that resulted in a brain bleed 12 hours later is bothering me.

Sounds about right. Don't think Lester should be looking at being dropped. Wouldn't mind seeing Walker/McStay forward combo and Hippy getting further up the ground.

Just where we are at, followed the same formular to ever single other game, bar hawks.

Came out ok, they lead by a couple at 1/4 time, we go 6 goals down, pressure goes off and we rally, talk of a come back, they have to go from 3rd to 4th gear for 15 minutes, kick 3-4 goals.. We keep fighting through junk time and lose by 4 goals, decent effort whilst never truely being in it at any stage.

Rich' s best game is years.

Clugg great. Hodge instrumental, just responded to the Harris hit like the legend of the game that he is.

We don't stick nearly enough tackles.

Forward entries deplorable... again, we need to figure it out.

Lester did enough, Mayes still just looks completely shot bar a couple of nice possesions.

Overall.. an ok performance, not a step back or a step forward.

I thought under the circumstances the boys did pretty well tonight. Despite being a man down - a key, in-form man down - for most of the game, we didn't allow them to boss the game and we were still in it into the fourth quarter. A dodgy non-free kick and a down-field for two easy goals killed it.

Hodge deserves POTR just for that mark!! A few sloppy kicks hurt us but overall there are still plenty of positives.

Having watched the Cameron hit again, I hope he gets the book thrown at him. If he was trying to spoil the ball then he would have had his arm straight. He went out to hurt and succeeded.

I know we have just had a bye but will Hodge be rested for the trip to Perth?

He'll be right, pretty sure J Browns advice to him would be - 'you dont run on ya face'

Even if Harris plays - Walker needs to stay in. Can play forward or back.
Probably drop Hipwood. Walker was better than Hipwood today.
Hippy got 3 goals, we aren't going to drop one of the few players who can get multiple goals. I reckon Andrews will be alright to stay in. Which then leaves Ealges vs Walker.

He'll get ****ed at the tribunal and rightly so.

There's legitimately no way to spin his actions as anything than a low act. Zero support on this forum and social media plus the AFL has shown time and time again they have zero tolerance when you raise that forearm. He's ****ed.

1) Hodge, Gardner, Rich and Robertson were great in the back line.
2) I also thought Walker did some good things.
3) McCluggage you star, this boy will be elite.
4) Lewy Taylor runs himself into the ground, love him.

We really missed Harris, Gardner started on Cameron so that was the matchup we were going with. Harris on Patton, no way Patton takes those marks with Harris coming over the top.

Overall I'm happy with the performance, at stages there when the Giants were running past in waves and overlapping I was fearing a flogging. Great effort fellas.

Whether we play a good team or an average team (GWS) it seems like we average being between 18-30 points behind. It's an improvement on last year but it's frustrating +++.

Interesting stats:
The big O covered the most distance in the game 15.8 k's
Mcluggage was 2nd for average moving speed @ 9.5km/hr showing he probably works the hardest on our team

A lot of our players had a high disposal efficiency. 13 players over 80% efficiency and 10 of those players had more than 16 disposals. Mcluggage was a bit off going @ 63%

I think Rayner, Mcluggage and Berry playing at the level we've seen them play could have been the difference. Rayner had his chances to kick a goal. Mcluggage missed one he should kick and also kicked to Berry's disadvantage inside 50. Those guys as well as an intercept marking Andrews and Gardiner able to jump and it's a 50/50 game for me.

Beast Mode still needs to work on his foot skills at stoppages but he's definitely more composed and using the hand ball alot more. Will be a very good footballer for us.

I didn't see the Magoo's.....did Frost perform well? Probably his chance if McStay n Harris dont get up. I would suggest Gardiner could be missing with ankle.

Frustrated with the result but not the effort.I thought the inclusions played well In Walker Matho_Obviously not a fan of Lester but he played well in the first half.Big fan of Bailey but he needs a rest.

Was okay but I don't think we'll elevate him yet.

Hopefully Robinson back in place of Mathieson?

The entry into forward 50 was woeful today and has been pretty much all year. It doesn’t help the situation when your two marking forwards are not leading towards the footy.

McInerney is waiting for the long kick to the front of the square but constantly is out-bustled in marketing contests. Hipwood is far too often loooking for the long kick over the back of the pack - he needs to lead at the ball more and when he does, put his arms out to take the ball and stop trying to take them on the chest.

Happy to persist with Hipwood but it is time to find another alternative to McInerney.

Also while we got a pretty good run with the umpiring today, there is always at least one horrible decision which costs a goal - today it was the free kick to Griffen in the goal square in the last quarter.

Still fuming from that dog act by Jeremy Cameron. Will get a deserved lengthy suspension but its not like our club gains any benefit. We just have an injured star.

The effort was good - much better performance than the Bombers game but I think GWS are not much of a side - they run hard for the ball but not the other way.

Hodge best on ground. Clarko telling him to hang up the boots has been a big benefit for our club. Thanks Alastair. Lester and Rich played there best games for some time. They need to back it up now and not live on the credits for a month. Walker did well and stays in the side but think Oscar makes way for McStay when he is fit.

Solid performances from Robertson - McCluggage, Taylor and Christensen. Courageous effort from Darcy Gardiner but you would expect nothing less from him.

Cedric Cox needs to come in next week.
