Nah.

I never worry about theses kind of games.

My attitude is that if we can't beat the likes of the Saints at home, we just aren't good enough to be taken as a serious Finals threat.
Agree with the last sentence of your post, but doesn't mean I'm not concerned.
I just don't trust us (yet) to back it up based on our form so far this year.
I can see us scoring 2.9 in the first half if we are forced to slow down play, and inevitably end up bombing it into a packed goal square for a rushed behind. Or early, shallow entries where we are reduced to pot shots from the 50.
So our poor entries would look like poor goal kicking.

Really hope I'm proved wrong, but too much chat of the Lions being #4 in power rankings, best in x metric, yada yada, a single game after everyone had written off the entire season.

Absolutely. And Fages saying yesterday in his press conference words to the effect of "we don't want to worry too much about St Kilda, we just need to worry about our own game and getting our process right."

This is the polar opposite of being the hunter and is completely setting us up for complacency. We invariably play very poorly when this is our mindset, and our midfield generally sets the tone in this regard. Missed tackles will be the early indicator of this.
Reading a bit too much into that one Grassy.
He was just saying that we want to stick to ‘our way and our process’ if our way includes hunting the ball, and I am pretty sure it does, then I can’t see any problem with that.
He is basically just saying not to get drawn into all of the media fuss about StKildas dour tactics and if we play our way we believe it is good enough to win the game.
And I believe it is too.

Jesus Levi is never going to come here if he sees that. Wipe it from the record.

Hope you're right. But I have heard comments like this numerous times before. Often in the lead up to Hawthorn games.

No doubt we will have plans for if A,B,C or D happens.
We may have plans for their dour and defensive game but do we have plans if they come out with a high amount of run and carry from the back half after copping a flogging all week about their
Shitty tactics.
That is where I will have a few doubts, whether we are ready for the unthinkable Ross Lyon tactic.

But we are Hawthorn's bunnies. I want confident about that game, but quietly confident about this one.

Also I hope Premier Miles goes last and we put the lid on it.

I hope he gets booooooed off.

I do hope we continue being the 'hunter' which i have banged on about before.

Clearly did it v Dees and Dogs

Thought we mostly did it v crows.

3 of our better performances for the year.

Saints are vulnerable with no NWM and Howard. We should figure out their best remaining weapons and plan for it. We just look better when we are focussed a bit on an opponent this year.

Post the great Melbourne win - massive flop v cats albeit in the rain.

Post the good showing v adelaide - massive flop v hawks.

Through most games this year we have been sporadic in effort and execution.

And when we have actually played well we have thrown it away the week after.

So I REFUSE to have hope.

Even with the proliferation of articles like this:

I refuse to look at our draw and think okay if we win all the games we will be faves in at this stage we should win 9 and get a home final.

Sure it's an even season apart from Sydney. Okay yeah if we played say essendon in week 2 at the g it would be a dream result. but it's not occupying my mind at all.

i refuse to think what a fit ashcroft could do for us, how we suddenly look pretty healthy apart from the ACLs.

The great runs of the blues and gws last year? Haven't crossed my mind.

So yeah get on the saints at $6!

No team ever really radically changes their game plan for specific teams anyway. You usually back your game plan with some adjustments like tagging, but the general plan is often always the same.

Ha!
Ross has been playing a 17 year rope-a-dope tactic, pretending he is a dour negative coach, just waiting to unleash his run and carry gameplan on checks notes Round 14 Friday night thriller against Brisbane

Not sure how much of the game i'll see due to my granddaughter and her family arriving from Portland anytime after 7pm ..

..just as well I love them dearly and look forward to seeing them.......anyone else I would not be happy.

It's up to you boys, just like last week please.

Go Lions!!

There was big wraps on the saints debutant Schoenmaker (on draft night), seemed like a very damaging by foot third tall type. briztoon can probably provide a more nuanced opinion, but I expect alot of their movement from half back could come from this kid tonight.

More likely a deer in the headlights v a rampaging Lions

From defense likely half back, he has averaged 26 disposals and 7 marks over 7 VFL games.
Kicks more than handballs ratio 5:1
