Possible carnage for me this week with Barlow, SJ, Ball, Vlas and Birch possibly out.

Very unsure who to keep of Birch and Vlas. Anyone care to shed some light? I assume many of us are in the same boat.

I'm trading both out. Birchall because I just cant stand his face anymore; Vlastuin because of his high BE (113).

This week I'm going to do (assuming Barlow and SJ play):

Birch -> Gibbs
Vlastuin -> Daniher (via B.Kennedy DPP)

leaving me with 112k next week to upgrade Caff/Evans to either a fwd or mid premo.

Anyone able to fill me in on the details of Scott Selwood's injury?

If Barlow and Scooter are out this week (most important game of the season), I can kiss goodbye to the rest of the year.

I have a few options for next week, I really need to get every last point out of my side for the next two weeks.

Assuming Scooter and Barlow play this week..

Majak Daw -> 89k spud (leaves me around 170k to play with).
Lance Franklin -> Stevie J.
OR
Brent Macaffer -> Dustin Martin.
OR
Brett Goodes/Nick Vlastuin -> Bryce Gibbs.
OR
Max Bailey (secondary ruckman) -> Jarryd Roughead/Todd Goldstein.
(What would you guys go for based on the above options?)
Assuming Scooter and Barlow don't play next week..

Michael Barlow -> Dane Swan.
Scott Selwood -> Matthew Boyd.

I really don't know. I just have to pray that they'll play next week, otherwise I'll be struggling.

I'd usually hold onto them and just stick out the two 0's, but I really cannot afford to fall away at this point. Bragging rights are on the line!

Thoughts on these

Goodes, Terlich, Vlastuin as B7. 2 will be traded (1 this week 1 next) and 1 kept. Similar prices at moment. If Vlastuin is not the one I keep he goes this week.

I can get Ablett this week but BE 136.
If Heppell goes up 17k I can't afford him next week

Or I can get Heppell this week but it means another week without Ablett.

FMDT without either of Ablett or Heppell

I would keep Terlich out of those. I regret trading him out when he had the bruised ribs... Terlich solid JS, always does the Dees kick outs, most consistent. Vlastuin peaked, trade him out this week, Goodes hold for next week since he plays the Dees this week. If you like, Goodes & Terlich can shoot it out for your B7 this week :p

My trades this week
Vlastuin > Gibbs
Macaffer > Daniher

I NEED BARTEL... could not believe how much he junked it today!!

Was going to get rid of Scotland, but Birchall's spudliness and possible injury means he gets the chop. Also was going to move on Macaffer but then realised I can switch Vlast and BKennedy, and trade Vlast out instead.

So, Birch -> Gibbs
Vlast -> Daniher

Ahh Monday morning trades. So naive and optimistic.

Thanks. Will definitely be Vlastuin or Goodes traded this week.
The benefit to Terlich is he always has lots of the ball in his area and clearly Crazy Vossy has been down at the Tigers telling everyone how awesome his idea of playing Hanley forward is. And now Vlastuin has been moving forward. Even things going wrong at the Tigers are due to crazy Vossy imo.

Bartel has been good but can hardly be called junking it when they were overrun in the last :)

Viney > Daniher (via Neede) is pretty much locked. Really want to trade out Hanley but with SJ and Barlow in my side that may not be a luxury I can afford myself

Nice to say bye to the byes though, and see a projected score of near 2400

I have a Fantasy Elite trade question if someone can offer assistance please:

I have one too many midfielders so will be offering one of them up for trade with other members in the league.

Structure is 6 mids on field and was thinking of keeping a 7th for the bench. I have an 8th midfielder with no fwd bench cover.

Ablett (average 123), Montagna (109), Boyd (105), O'Keefe (101), Thompson (97), Fyfe (97), McVeigh (98) & Sloane (95)

Which one do I get rid of? Is it as simple as getting rid of the lowest average player.

Only trade sloane (a bit inconsistent) for a 80-85 FWD

I would go with roughead, he's in super form

Birchall is okay for this week for Hawthorn, but for DT it's another story

scott selwood is out for 4 weeks apparently. weak source but could be true since he twisted his right shoulder

Well Vlastuin (Probably won't play and massive BE now) and S.Selwood are certainties to be traded out now. The question is for who, can't afford to miss Daniher and will need another midfield premium (Only had 7, Scooter and Barlow being two of them). So pretty much locked in despite the carnage, which is really weird, final formatting of the team with DP will come down to who is named and who isn't I guess (eg EMG loophole with Daniher possible if Rowe named, otherwise I'll just start Daniher in F6 plus makeup of midfield over whether Barlow will play or not)

Vlastuin > Daniher
Selwood > Jack

Just curious does anyone not have both Ablett and Swan in there side and managing a good score?

I haven't had Ablett all year and am 103rd overall. Obviously in hindsight it has been a mistake, but I think we over estimate the value of 1 player. Clearly minimising the number on rookies on the field is as important as adding players at the top end. My strategy has involved bringing in a number of mid pricers and fallen premiums (ie Ellis (at 218k), Gray (failure until last weekend), Ball, Priddis, Kruezer etc...). This has given me strength in depth, rather than all the highest scoring players.

With all the extra trades it will be relatively easy for me to now upgrade those players to high end premiums.

Depending on teams (Ball, Barlow) SJ being suspended actually doesn't affect my trades. T.Mitchell comes onto the field for Stevie.

If only one (or neither) of Ball or Barlow miss and shouldn't be out too long then they stay.

Still completely torn over who to keep of Birchall and Vlastuin.

Seems completely wasteful to trade Birch now and we know he can score if his role is good. Just no confidence in him.

Vlas on the other hand has been scoring better but his role may change with Conca back in the team. I have more faith in Vlas. More $$ made by trading him.
