Only voted for Stef - still can’t understand the lack of appreciation of his efforts around here week in week out (regardless of who he is playing against). Clugga opens up the game like only top end players do. Nice effort from others, but hardly a game to define careers. Thought most forwards given Hippy’s opportunities today would have kicked 4 or 5 - fine young player but that return should burn.

Confusing when a few think Stefs a bad ruckman. He’ll be top 3 in the BnF

Thought our forward pressure was the best it’s been this season. Didn’t notice Barrett a lot which is probably a good thing because his turnovers tend to be very noticeable.

Lester again provided two bloopers from situations only he could stuff up...one out on the full from a standing kick ,no pressure, and a straight forward spoil, against a smaller opponents to give away the free .This guy must have claims to be the most unjustifiable selection in the club's history.
Lester will be a much better player in a side that is better (which we will be). Slow yes, but clever and adaptable. Nick Robbo provides an interesting contrast.

Stef has got 85% percent of the votes after tonight’s game.
I think there are a few who appreciated his efforts.

So after a win you often can’t pick out anyone that didn’t play well.
- Nick Robbo struggled with disposal, but effort, speed and commitment outstanding.
- Barrett gave very little. What was his metres gained for the game? I know this doesn’t mean everything but still, it felt like he was playing for Freo.... Why? He has to come out for Cox
- Mathieson wasn’t very good either. Only ever bombs it, which MRobbo gets away with for his other attributes, but Mathieson’s free kick hauls hardly compensate. Out for CBeams

Hahahah mate.

So we have a great win and you've got nothing positive to say. You're looking for the negatives. I don't think a team like ours drops three players after a massive win like that.

Cherry on top of course is that you're still calling for Claye Beams hahahaha. Bloody madness, all of it.

Thanks for the reminder Dlions, but mine was a season on season comment

According to my calculations he's equal leader in our board's Player of the Year rankings.

Stef*, Andrews - 24
McCluggage*, Beams* - 20
Cameron - 18

Please Len, go piss on someone else's parade. Lester also had 4 score involvements, 12 pressure acts and 6 intercept possessions. Two turnovers? Big ******* deal.

God, don’t you get sick of this Lester bashing?

I thought he was solid.

If you want to trash players because of a couple of unforced errors/turnovers, you would need to dump on all 22 players.

Berry is really exciting. A second year player standing up in tackles and getting away from them. Boy he is going to have a serious physical presence about him in only a few years from now.

Wish we grab Berry jnr with our second this year !

Barrett was solid - 100% efficiency. Has zero confidence to put the ball on boot but got us out of traffic a few times and set Rayner up for a gimme.

Again.. the only other team out side of Hawthorn who just went head to head and didnt just load up our forward 50 with defenders.. and we won. How many 1 on 1s did our forwards have? Instead of just bombing it long into a pocket with 30 players waiting for it..

Great win, so much to like, young guys leading the way, this one had a feel about it.

Jarrod Berry winning a bit of praise is good to see. If his Bro is half the player, we’ll take him.

9. Jarrod Berry is ready to take on the big boys
At 193cm and with a strong build in just his second season, young Brisbane midfielder Jarrod Berry is quietly establishing himself as a star of the future. On Sunday at Optus Stadium the Lions took the opportunity to run him on superstar Nat Fyfe and for the opening quarter Berry had the better of the match-up, winning eight possessions to Fyfe's five. When Fyfe went down with a hamstring injury early in the second term, he moved on to Lachie Neale and continued to hold his own, winning plenty of his own football and finishing with 24. Berry won high praise for his tagging job on Joel Selwood last season, but the club has resisted run-with roles since, preferring to let the young Victorian focus on his own game this season. The opportunity to learn from two clearance stars was too much to pass up, however, and Berry’s performance suggests it is likely to pay dividends for the Lions. - Nathan Schmook
