Don’t want to be negative but I’ve been to training - Heath is way off it - good trainer & hard on himself - hopefully 2024Perhaps its time to bite the bullet and give Max Heath a few games. I know he's not ready but Max needs some help. Opponents are working Hammer under the ball far too easily. Give Hammer a rest and play Moose for a few weeks.
It's not one or the other. I didn’t want Ratten or Lyon. I wanted an untried coach from a successful, winning program that was currently in the AFL system.Do you think Ratten and his merry men would be doing better?
I saw him have 1 tonight. The last 3 weeks Gresh has had 35 centre bounce attendances (3rd highest mid in the team) for 0 centre bounce clearances.
You're doing great so far. Exactly rightI'm a novice fan, but it seems there are moments when the boys seem to rush when they should take a little more time. Then other times they seem lackadaisical when they should be more aggressive.
So you’re declaring it a failure after 6 months?Alot got sucked into the nostalgia of having the old boys club back again. Remember this was all overseen by the guy who signed off on hiring and firing a coach inside 3 months. Bassat has absolutely no clue and thinking that because something worked 15 years ago it'll work now is hilarious.
It's pretty sad that I'm completely indifferent about the game. No emotion whatsoever, in fact I don't particularly care too much anymore.
People say oh but Richmond won with chaos footy. I don't care.
I saw him have 1 tonight.
Yeah I agree. But a taste of afl can do wonders for people development. Gives them something to works towards again and feel for the step up.I hear you brother - but ive been to training - Van Es, Keeler, Peris & Adams are miles off it currently (doesn’t mean they won’t make it)
Coach can't fix the list. We need a couple more years of good drafting to build something. It may still turn out that RTB has a ceiling that isn't consistently finishing top 4 even with good cattle. It's not one or the other. I didn’t want Ratten or Lyon. I wanted an untried coach from a successful, winning program that was currently in the AFL system.
Instead we went for a guy 3 years removed and surrounded him with ex St.Kilda players.
You don't find a way when you are watching a rabble and weekly you are realising the latest coach is not the messiah the Pres said he was.Trains were ****ed at points in 2009 and 2010 when we were packing out Etihad too. If we are a genuinely good side people find a way.
I don't really give too much of a shit anymore mate. The game is absolutely shithouse to watch and us still being a beige side makes things worse.View attachment 1720413
The game sucks and is getting worse by the week. Literally.
We find new ways to suck. So disappointing because the kids could be anything, but hard to remain interested even then.
Don’t want to be negative but I’ve been to training - Heath is way off it - good trainer & hard on himself - hopefully 2024
Can't say I blame youGot home but didn't bother to watch the end.
It's pretty sad that I'm completely indifferent about the game. No emotion whatsoever, in fact I don't particularly care too much anymore. Definitely will not be going to another game until I can see that we've actually made sustainable change.
Had concerns about Ross coming in and after being told I have no clue we are beginning to see the cracks appear. The inability for his teams to score is what will stop us from winning a premiership. Kicked 100 points once this year. Not only that but we are poor defensively now too.
As for this game, once they hit the front in the 1st it was over. We never fired a shot, played dumb football, got torched in the middle once again.
All that and then you wonder why only 28k show to the game. A marquee fixture for a great cause and we can't crack 30k. You know why? Because we've been untrustworthy in the way we play for years on end, and so the supporters can't be ****ed turning up every week if they don't know which St.Kilda will turn up - and fair enough too.
Given our easy fixture we will make the eight but we won't cause anyone any trouble and we'll just sit and hope we improve the midfield over the summer.
Ultimately we are a boring, dour side with poor skill and footy IQ. Nothing more nothing less.
I don't understand why the AFL has to tie all of its messaging to a particular round and why we as a club try to buy into it.I don't even really get the point of it either, "look out for mental health" is such an ambiguous and surface level message, reminds me of R U OK day.
Meaningful action would involve addressing the impacts of CTE, but the AFL will never do that lol
Yeah that's exactly right, it's the players and club responsibility to bring people through the gate not the other way around. Who wants to go to a game to watch a bipolar side. You don't find a way when you are watching a rabble and weekly you are realising the latest coach is not the messiah the Pres said he was.
List wise it's being proven no one can turn a turd into a chikito, no matter who is the highly paid coach.
hello Ratts.
Really disappointed in windy. Still like him but he is having a serious case of 2nd year blues.Blokes who seriously need a spell:
Hammer
Windhager
Poo
Paton
Burns
Gresh
Blokes ready to come in:
If we could stop sides kicking goals, sometimes multiple goals, in the last few minutes of pretty much every quarter we play in we may pinch a few extra wins and play finals.
You pointed out the key.
Ruckman, Marshall is poor man’s ruckman. Yes he can get a couple of hack kicks around the ground a take a mark or two, but he is not giving our mids any service. The 2020 final and first part of 2022 was mostly due to Ryder’s dominance in the ruck.
Also a couple of aggressive genuine mids will help. Crouch is carrying us but he can’t do it on his own. Steele is a reactive mid relying on his tacking to win the ball back. Same as Ross. Owens, Winghager, Philippou are just too green to hold the fort in the midfield.
I will now try
Stocker, Crouch, Bytel are all aggressive tough mids and Winghager can run. Just something different, because Steele, Gresham and Crouch are not getting it done.
- Stocker
- Bytel
- Winghager
- Crouch
- Steele to rotate
Hell, if they were bipolar, at least they'd be angry every second week.Yeah that's exactly right, it's the players and club responsibility to bring people through the gate not the other way around. Who wants to go to a game to watch a bipolar side.
We declared last year a failure after 3 so I think I've given it enough time.So you’re declaring it a failure after 6 months?
They are. WLWLWLWLWLLHell, if they were bipolar, at least they'd be angry every second week.
