The problem is we don't play chaos footy. We try to hit targets that aren't on, which is a different game because then we're actually more likely to turn it over. Look at Hill drilling his kicks across the 50 which miss targets and end up in the perfect spot for the opposition to rebound it.

Exactly, we're the opposite of chaos. Everyone knows what we're going to do.

Bomb it poorly on an intercepting defenders head. Repeat.

Just because our skills are shite doesn't make it chaos footy

We need to drop some guys and make some changes but it doesn't look like we have anything much better to come back in unfortunately.

The fact we brought in Paton shows how bare the cupboard is, it would be nice to have Membrey. Jones, Billings, Clark. Coffield and Hayes all available.

We did well to get so many wins early on in the season with all our injuries but it's starting to bite us now, too many guys getting games that shouldn't.

What hurts about tonight is that the Lions were not at their best, but we were just nowhere good enough to compete with them for long enough to win. If we'd played anywhere near our best we'd have won the game but we were really terrible especially in the first half.

Gresham is just heinously out of form. He has to go to Sandy for a spell.
Looking at the stats Phillipou had 12 handballs and 0 kicks. He's too handball happy and even handballs to guys under pressure. His handball can be a weapon but he's overusing it for a guy that can kick it 60m comfortably.
Marshall was so good earlier in the year but form has dipped a bit, hasn't been able to dominate an opponent for a while.
Nasiah was awesome.
Steele got going a bit towards the end but really poor first half. 12 tackles very good though and hopefully something he can build on.
Windy got a bath from Neale.
King, probably one of the worst games you'll ever see.
Dougal's 50 probably the dumbest 50 you'll ever see.
Our decision making both coming out of 50 and going inside 50 was shocking.
Paton and Byrnes are VFL standard players and if Jones and DMac get back fit they're gone.

It's sad to see this sense of deja vu play out in a big game with so much on the line. Finals are looking very shaky from here.

Agree about Pou. Needs to back himself in and start kicking the ball.

I dont think it would matter who is coaching this list ATM. People suggest the training standards have lifted, but the game results are not a lot different to last year.

That on top of our constant injury list we have been exposed.

$300k for me. I don't see his value and think he's been overrated for years.

All judgement on Lyon should really be reserved until next year. With a raft of guys out of contract and reading between lines the list will be gutted as years end. Let's judge him after he has his way with the list. We have seen what's possible but the current group clearly can't deliver it consistently. You could say he hasn't explored the list much, but if you watch a few sandy games there really isn't much to choose from.

It's the decision making more than anything. We have some very low footy iq players. We have smalls leading into spaces talls should, we sometimes all get sucked in to the ball and otherwise sometimes all sit outside. When we get a clear break everyone will run goal side and no one at the ball carrier.

I think that's what RTB means when he says "they're very coachable". Basically they don't use any judgement, they just do what the coach said was the plan. "He said bomb it long, I know there are four Brisbane players down there on their own but I guess I should still bomb it long."

Our pressure in the first half was 163, in the 2nd half 192- including 47 tackles.

Brisbane had just 56 tackles for the match, so we had almost that many in the 2nd half alone. Too little too late though.
