Should not have been selected on form before Francis.
Oh, it's not so much an Ambrose thing than it is a "We should always pick Francis" thing.

What do you expect when a club has been as soft and mediocre for 15 years. ****in weak ****in pricks. Good to see Long prove that he’s not up to EDFL standard let alone ****in AFL. ****in weak as piss

This really isn’t hard to understand. I think I’ll not respond.

Colyer and Baguley were far worse in comparison.

But hey, he only just came into the team so he must be the problem right?

Give me a break

He's rubbish in the VFL, should never have come into the team in the first place, hes just not AFL standard.

Our best isn't sustainable for this group.... yet.

The match was in the balance until that 50m penalty. So this team has the capability of matching it with any of the top 8 sides (except possibly Richmond). We weren't terrible. A few umpiring breaks and a bit of confidence and those brain fades don't happen.

Finals seem unreachable now. Devon is a gun and sets a high standard. Not sure we have the depth of the great teams in the afl and see it as our greatest weakness.
But we've beaten some of the great teams of the AFL. (Port, Weagles, Geelong, and have pushed Collingwood today). In reality there is not much between most of the teams these days.

Really flat after that last quarter, I honestly thought we would run over the top of them.

The good:
Brown, Zach, Smith, Heppell (1st half) Hurley and Hooker

The bad:
Colyer (never again please), Myers (1 good week, then back to bog average, typical of his career) Weak tackling effort (McGrath in particular with some very soft attempts)

BJ is unfortunately done now and with Ambrose injured we should play Francis and Ridley for the rest of the year

Put the question to the AFL about umpiring... it’s beyond a joke now. We are just fighting so much, WC and North we pushed through but umpiring today broke us. That first half was unreal. If you aren’t completely black and white you will see how attrocious that was.

Myers was back to his old self, was slow to react and in decision making. Long had some good moments but had some moments he didn’t adjust to the speed of the game. We saw the best and worst of McKernan today, I can’t believe there are some that don’t want Joe back. Today is why we need a fully fit Joe. Ambrose can’t be trusted, needs to be put away for the year and it’s time to play Francis. Smith, Merrett and Heppell were great. But need another gun mid in there. Colyer was ordinary today and struggled on the wide ground. I like Goddard, hope he plays out the year and retires. Need to look at Francis and Ridley and play them ASAP. Give Mutch another extended run too.

Next two weeks against GC and Freo is a great time to play kids. Put the cue in the rack, get some games into kids and pick up another top 10 pick. I don’t want to eek into another finals series. Will be nearly impossible now anyway.

No match up for degoey or Stephenson didn't help but the fact of the matter is Collingwood are a well drilled team first team. It was a hard hitting tight contest in close and we can't match it with teams that bring physicality.
Enjoyed the game, the better team won.

Faded badly in the last quarter there, down 1 rotation probably telling at that point.
Felt we should have built about a 3 goal lead by that point, but for wasted opportunities. That lead should have made it a line ball finish.

To say Jake Long is hopeless is harsh.

Maybe he’s just not up to AFL standard and that doesn’t make him hopeless.

Hopeless at AFL level then, he should never have been out there today, zero awareness, poor skills and ordinary decision making, simply not up to it.
