Three different coaches got the same outcome with this group - at some point it’s the players

Drafted one good player in 20 years. It’s always been list issues. Having low testosterone cucks as our priority for years didn’t help.

Somehow we are always s**t but we never get access to the elite talent at the top of the draft because we are never quite bad enough or perhaps even smart enough to bottom out.

The issue is not elite talent. Our crap coaching/poor development will turn them into ordinary players anyway, case in point Jack Billings, Clark, Coffield, Gresham.. need we go on..

We put up with Richo and Ratts for 10 years of this shit show, should at least have some patience on this new mob.. Look like we over performed first half of the season with new kids and superior fitness, but have gone back to our true level.. The fact that our midfield is so utterly ordinary is the real problem.. Need to gut the whole midfield and start again.. from Marshall, Ross, Hill, Brynes, even Steele. Will give Crouch a pass at least he is breaking even, everyone else is non-competitive.

Anyone who can’t see our problems are system based, today is the defining one to show it is.

Eagles are about as low as any team in history confidence wise.

But one thing Simpson teams can do is kick the footy.

Because Lyon and our coaches for the last 10 years just coach effort, tackling and not skill, we don’t have any other gear to go to, just scrap, scrap away.

Even the Eagles, bottom of the league and with injuries galore (so shot personnel) can easily work through our system because of their foot skills and the way they are coached.

After the drudgery, defensiveness and lack of imagination from Richo and Ratts, Lyon was the last coach we needed.

His strength is defense and it was being shown up at the end of his Fremantle stint.

Yet another strategically dreadful coaching appointment from our club. We are the best in the business at not reading where the game is going.

Ironically, the only coaching appointment we nailed was Lyon the first time around as he was perfect for where the game was at the time.
