so much of it is psychological, and i genuinely believe it's heeney's biggest problem at the moment ... it's more than just goalkicking yips, he dropped a sitter early tonight during the period he missed the two early set shots, and almost looked like he was getting in the way

he has that urge to just compete, to know that at the very least if he's doing something to get to the ball, it will help the team, particularly in a defensive context but also, like you say, tonight there was at least one tap-on to spark something in attack

I wish I shared the optimism but it doesn't feel like that at all. It feels like even at maximum effort, even when we play our best, we fall short against anyone that matters. Richmond is the highest placed team we've beaten all season. We don't have a single win against the top 10.

yeah, he can be a bit all over the place, but he's a big guy still developing, and it's mostly to do with confidence
i really like him, i can see that sam reid role, but give him a year or two at least
and he is only a couple of games back from an extended period out
happy with him, mcdonald and mclean, long term, although maybe buller comes in as an option
