Complacency may be our friend, if the bombers see nine out and think this will be a walk in the park. Fingers crossed.
I reckon they will come hard at us,thinking okay we are a bloody good chance here, this is our grand final.
They win it from the stoppage get us on the outside like any team they might just find us a bit disorganized when we are running back.
I'm hoping Froggy will keep us solid back there.
Win the middle and we slaughter them, our forwards hopefully on song with their shots.
Feeling confident.
Lions by 38.

Strangely I haven't looked forward so much to a H&A game for quite a while, excited to see how the new look back line functions + how Sharp, Michael, Madden, Cockatoo, Tunstill go and in particular Fullarton, has looked much improved in the reserves lately.

Llllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnssssssssss!

Could be the makings of a few like Fullarton, Sharpy, Madden...
Interested to see if Fullarton plays up the ground a bit, taking McStays job with the kicks down the boundary and linking up.
Does anyone think the boys play with a bit more run ,being some of the inclusions do this naturally.
Actually exited with this prospect.

Fullarton has been named in the backline, not that it usually means much but I'm thinking he plays there, we have Hippy and Joe down forward and then one of the Big O or Fort as the resting ruckman.

If there is any upside to this game, all the HSP's, is that it is hitting us now while we playing lower ranked teams. It would be a disaster if it was Rds 19-23, or finals. And it could also hit other teams, HSP's that it is, over the next month or so. All other clubs and commentators are saying now that we just have to deal with it, just as WCE and the Dockers did earlier in the year. Well, if it hits the Cats and the Demons in Sept, I'm not complaining.

I think Fullarton will play down back
Ok.
Do you know has he played there much in the past .
Was getting confident but that puts the game and probably some players playing out of their positions in context.
Arhh.
Still Lions by , well, umm 28, no stuff it still 38.
Go hard Lions Roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Played there in preseason but that’s about it

Those going to the Gabba today. Don’t forget to give those Essendon uncles the Lion's treatment.

For those who only joined post-2015 and confused by the uncle talk, we had a poster whose relatives would often find themselves assaulted at Brisbane-Essendon games at the Gabba....

Dislike - the fact my father was bashed by brisbane supporters after the 2001 grand final
in AFL football best team should win always.... not yesterday night... poor umpirin cost essendon the game... we will better but still draw... browns kick to bradshaw was touched and i herd it, other bad desisions as well, i feel cheated. My father was confrinted in car park and hot chips chucked at him and was decked by a foolish person.

Where’s the Gabba carpark?

Been catching public transport like a right pleb all these years.

This has a 2018 feel for me. We have talent on the field, but it's untested and needs everything and everyone to be on song for a win.

Possible danger points -

Slow start in the mid field. This has been a problem for a while, and in a few games opposition inaccuracy has kept us in the game.

With our novice backline, it could be a killer. Defenders might panic and defensive formations fall apart. Need some maturity and experience to reset and yes, Lester can, but too many newbies overall.

Fade out. The AFL grade is a step up, kids will be trying their hearts out.

When you are relaxed muscles turn on and off and you conserve energy.

When you are nervous (and the whole team will be nervous today) muscles stay 'on', burn more energy and athlete's fatigue faster.

Haven’t set off for a game with such low expectations in five years. Love retro round.

As much as I try to stay upbeat, I think we have our hands full trying to scrap a win here.

Apart from the loss of personnel, nine changes have got to have a massive impact on team structure and cohesion.

I'm pessimistic:(

That's not pessimism. This is.

Realising that if we fold and lose by a lot, and Carlton beat West coast by a lot, Carlton could jump is on the ladder.

Haven't worked out the differentials.

Our defense will have a 48 game average and a 24.4 age average if we run with the below 7 players in defense
Fullarton (16 games, 23.5 years old), Payne (20 & 22.7), Madden (10 & 22.7), Lester (159 & 29.8), Adams (69 & 29), Starcevich (62 &23) & Michael (0 & 20.1)
So no one over 30 or under 20 years old. It is not a bad spread considering out outs
But for injuries Adams should be 169 not 69 :)
