I'd love for one of you umpire apologists to explain that non-decision when Rohan threw the ball out after being tackled for 3 or 4 seconds.
They can't. That was u8tterly corrupt. That was no mistake. It could not have been, held the ball one handed for 5 seconds, threw it away, no high contact, and then gets the free kick, with the umpire staring it down the entire time. Utterly corrupt.

Desperately missing the 3 guys that are out this week. Major part of why we’ve gone so well the past 8 weeks.

2 glaring selection mistakes by half time - Seamus and Bruest.

Not sure what Nash is doing today? Whatever it is it’s ineffective and we are -1 in the midfield because of it.

I wasn't supremely confident about winning today to be honest, but this is a pants pulling down spank-a-doodle effort. Really hope we can get it together in the 2nd half.

The defense looks very poorly organized. Scrim has worked back into it but Seamus and Frost keep being led to be ball.

Multiple instances of players not calling each other out of marking contests.

Almost had the feel of the players knowing how much the game matters and and getting too worked up and panick-ey. Just reacting, fumbling, drawing too many players to the contest.

A shell shocked version of our selves, no doubt. The boys never really settled down that half basic marks and kick turnovers are not helping with a side that has done their homework.

Time to show up in the 3rd quarter we are still a chance

Typical by the umps there at the end. Clear holding the ball but let it go and they get an advantage. Happens every time against these ****s. We are being outplayed but stuff like that kills momentum.

Glad CJ slotted that last goal. We need some angry pills at halftime and at least make ourselves hard to play against for the whole second half. Win or lose that should be the minimum. They should not be outnumbered us so easily and taking the ball from contest without more physical pressure.

Big test for Mitch to see if he can adapt in game. Hasn’t been a strength of his in his coaching career so far.

There were bits to like in the last 5-10 mins.

Regroup.

We're still in this.
Dust ourselves off.

Aim to match them pressure wise in the third. Hopefully peg the lead back to under 4 goals and it’s still winnable in the last.

Good opportunity to show how much we have improved / matured in the past 2 months.

If we go down swinging it’s still a positive day.

Disagree. Game was over after the first quarter.

With Breust, Gunston and Lewis all on the ground, and with Ginnivan and Sicily missing we are not the same team who won 8 of 9 games. Not even close.

I agree a selection mistake was made.
Dgb / Serong should of come in for Sicily like for like.
The forwards are not hunting there defenders and Hardwick is forced to play back.

One of the holier-than-thou smartarses on this board will have a post-rationalisation for it, though. Some sneering comment about "conspiracy theories" or somesuch.

We will rue the first quarter, but it’s on the players to grind now and get back to the sort of footy we know we can play.

A few good signs in the second, but we need to be much better. Far too fumbly today.

Getting pantsed out of the middle and our defence is struggling with the way the wall is being delivered into the d50.

Work rate poor across the ground.

That said, I’d still give us a chance to hunt this down. Not sure the cats can keep up this level of intensity for the whole game. We just have to arm wrestle it back and take our chances.
