We should be pretty confident. We've matched up well against them in recent years and probably have the best record at Subi of all the away teams. We have injury concerns, but so too do the Eagles. And their midfield is slow.

The Eagles have lost three of their last four. They were competitive in the western derby, but only for three quarters. They are yet to beat a top 8 team, and with games against us, the Bombers, and Geelong to come, many of their fans have already written off their season. The calls for the blooding of youngsters has begun.

As others have said, winning the midfield is key. Their strength is their forward line, so we must stop quick ball coming in - especially early on. Must take their feral crowd out of the game. Expect a lopsided free kick count, and three or four howlers against us.

Swans by 22.

Nic Nat needs a rest too. Probably shouldn't have played this week, but it was the Derby.

It would be nice if they rest him, but they have a 7 day break so its unlikely.

Can't afford to drop this match this week if we are going to finish top 4, issue is West Coast at Subiaco is always going to be a tough ask and whilst their midfield may be slow it still has some class and with a forward line as dangerous as theirs this is a massive danger game.

Hopefully on Sunday Fremantle find a way to lose to Richmond and we get a good win.

I actually think this is a possibility. Last year we sunk three hoodoos in three weeks to claim the flag. No reason we can't win it from outside the eight should it come to that.

I know it's a typo, but I can't resist. If we drop to 9th, and the Dons get stripped points, we could be first team in the history of the world to win from outside the 8. Totally worth doing just for that :p

I think he would be a 50-50 to be honest. He has had zero impact in the second half for the last month.

Our last two matches with Hawks and Geelong are very possible wins, but something in our favour is that they will have locked up those spots already, and may be managing players before the finals. Well, Geelong might, I doubt that the Hawks would go easy on us even if they have a few niggling injuries. Apparently beating us in H&A makes up for 2012.

Give Mcglynn as long as possible to get right, I would be devo if he missed out on the finals, and he will likely off himself.

You would think Membrey would be next cab off the rank given Morts is still a bit proppy.

Many of us have been wondering if we are getting too tall and slow in our forward line and I think we haven't so far but if we had Tippett, Pyke/Mumford, White and Membrey with no McGlynn, we are getting too big, particularly on Subiaco. I'd rather see Cunningham get a shot.

On a similar note, do we have another senior spot available for a rookie elevation right now? Jake Lloyd would have to be close to getting if we do.

Fair call, our talls weren't really exposed against GWS, but it's another thing against quality opposition. Having said that, there isn't any need for crumbing when all those you mention are marking them well.

I'll leave it up to the match committee. I poo pooed White being sub, but he came on and had an impact. There is some method to their madness.

Good question.

We currently have 3 promoted rookies Dane Rampe, Brandon Jack and Xavier Richards.

AFAIK, on the LTI list we should have Mattner, AJ and Tommy Walsh. We also get a 'freebie' after Round 11. So we should have space, but failing that we could still move Naismith or LRT to the LTI list given they are listed as indefinite. But doing so would end their years as you have to spend a minimum of 8 weeks on the LTI list.

The problem with Lloyd though is he is purely a midfielder although he could possibly do a job as a half forward too. The players we are missing are mainly talls and defenders but our midfield has somehow escaped the carnage (touch wood). Tom Mitchell played most of yesterday as a half forward before being unleashed in the midfield for the last quarter (and look how much impact he had) so spots in the engine room are especially tight at the moment.

Richmond should have won the game at Subiaco earlier in the year so they may be fired up for this one and keen to cement their top 8 position. I might tip them.

I cant see that they will have Shuey , Kerr , Sellwood back and in a heap better form than they were a few weeks ago

If they're in I hope it's rushed in and they're not actually ready.

I really think McGlynn will miss and while I apprecite he had a quite one in the reserves adding Morton to the Forward set up for Subiaco gives a littlie bit of natural zip for a third forward who hopefully has his forward pressure burners put on.

Everett may need to take up a purely defensive role on the resting ruckman so this time it might be Rampe’s turn to peel off and play man in front and provide some run.

Waiting to see if Benny is in. If it turns out we're "going to see if he completes training", then i hope he makes it back for finals this year, was hard luck for him to miss last year.

If Benny is out, then start Jesse and had a quick replacement (Towers, Cunningham) on the bench. We can stretch the WC backline. Nic Nat looks sore, and can't run out games, and Cox looks tired. With Pyke, Mummy and Jesse, we can run them off their feet by half time... just make them run around chasing our ruckman and then run back to stoppages. Then when they're cooked, sub Jesse out and bring on some fresh legs.

Ben McGlynn, Sydney Swans has been charged with a level five striking offence (425 demerit points, four-match sanction) for striking Tom Scully, GWS Giants, during the first quarter of the round 16 match between the Sydney Swans and the GWS Giants, played at the SCG on Sunday July 14, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a three-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the GWS Giants Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of eight activation points, resulting in a classification of a level five offence, drawing 425 demerit points and a four-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 318.75 points and a three-match sanction.
Haven't seen it yet but it must have been a pretty dirty act to get punished more than McKernan's elbow to Sheppard's face last week.
