Our 2016 draft haul
Pick 11 - Florent
21 - Hayward
45 - Maibaum
48 - Cameron
Rookie draft
17 - Ronke
34 - Fox
49 - Edwards
54 - Pink
5 of them named for Saturday, still have high hopes for Maibaum long term. That’s not bad drafting!
Any word why Grundy is an emergency?
That’s the way I look at
Emergency is insulting
Hope so otherwise Longmire reckons he's our 4th best tall defender all of a sudden!Rest more than anything would be the clubs word, but I do feel it is a matchup thing- Suns don't have many talls. Marsh, Rampe and AA is plenty.
I still don't get it, TBH. Aliir being in the team means Reg is injured? Rested? Refusing to play?Is this what sthmelb dimmies was going on about?
Rohan is still resting up:OPerhaps it's best to rest up if he has had a niggle but he can play if needed.
Same as with Rohan before & Paps.
I reckon they played him against Richmond when there really was no matchup and realised that maybe they need to be a bit more flexible down back. I think last week they weren't expecting Majak to play forward. They did seem perfectly happy to play Melican, Grundy and Rampe in the same side though. There is no matchup. You don’t play someone just because. Who would Grundy play on? Bare in mind most of the GC forward line is out..

Will you shut up already!Maybe, but why do you rest a senior key player but name him as a backup plan?
Let’s be real Reg is old and has the turning circle of the QE2 at the best of times. I honestly think the coaches still see him as the pillar of our back line, just like Kennedy in the midfield and Buddy in the forward line. Last year Horse rested Kennedy for a couple of matches. This year Buddy’s already had a few weeks off due to injury. Grundy has been incredibly durable but he probably can’t take as much and in order to get the best out of himself come finals time, a less is more approach is the best way to go about it. Let’s not forget, he was a late out last week. It’s not like Horse just dropped him. This board is always complaining about how Horse runs his best players into the ground every year. Well now one of his best players is out of the senior side being managed and the panic button has been hit???
At least see if he plays reserves this week before we go apocalyptic
modern stats have gotten a bit out of hand imo

What are you meaning by this? Anything in particular or just sick of the numerous stats being sprouted by all and sundry?modern stats have gotten a bit out of hand imo
I'd really like to think you are right, but I don't believe it. If he was being 'managed', then either Harley or Horse would have said something, I reckon. I read the Wu piece in the Sun and the Age, and then went and re-watched those games. Our last 6 games are Suns, Bombers, Pies, Demons, Giants and Hawks. And really, the only one I could see him playing would be the Hawks, but they wouldn't want to upset the team at that stage. I think that baring injury, he is done...Let’s be real Reg is old and has the turning circle of the QE2 at the best of times. Rohan is still resting up:O
Is it an off field thing with Gaz?
I like to think about what off field event has changed his life this season. Is it all affecting him?
So knowing how big Horse is on mental wellness, I won't rule out that Gaz may not be at his best mentally when he runs out onto a football field of late.
Hence no NEAFL footy.
Sometimes it's not black & white & as fans we miss that stuff.
According to the daily Grundy is out because he was to slow and got ahold by JR and Hawkins
