The Hawks are back at the familiar confines of Box Hill City Oval to host the Seagulls in another proverbial eight-point game. Both the Hawks and Seagulls are locked on 10 wins, with Box Hill above Williamstown on the ladder thanks to superior percentage. Box Hill has had a recent roller-coaster ride and will be looking to make it two consecutive wins for the first time since rounds 11-12 this year.

The two clubs are two of three teams clustered together on 40 points for the season so far, with Box Hill in the middle. The Werribee Tigers are on top of the ladder, six points clear of Footscray, with Brisbane in third, the Cats fourth and then come Southport, Box Hill and Williamstown. Box Hill can't afford a loss of form, as they are 2.5 games clear of the Zebras with four games to play. Sandringham are 11th, knocking on the door of the top 10 with 30 points.

Box Hill returned to the winners' list on the weekend by defeating a very inaccurate North Melbourne at Arden Street last weekend. The Kangaroos had 21 scoring shots to 20 from Box Hill, but the Kangaroos kicked 5.16.46 to lose to Box Hill by 14 points. In a tight and low scoring affair, the Seagulls defeated Richmond by 22 points at Williamstown 8.10.58 to 5.6.36, to make it two wins in a row for Williamstown after they had lost their two previous games by 27 points and 20 points respectively.

The Hawks will need to defy some history, with Williamstown easily winning the head-to-head record (61 wins to Williamstown compared to 32 wins to Box Hill, with three draws) and Williamstown have even been the more successful team at Box Hill City Oval, winning 29 games compared to 17 by Box Hill.

Box Hill has made three changes so far to the side that beat North Melbourne, with potentially more changes to come, depending on Hawthorn's selection for its game against Adelaide this weekend.

Will be interesting to see how James Cousins is going for Willy. Still have his Hawks guernsey from one year the board sponsored him
