HUGE test for the kids, a showpiece of what may very well come in September as it looks more likely in my eyes that we will end up playing Geelong in first week of the finals.

I like those match ups eth-dog, Baldwin in to play on Hawkins, Zerk to Cameron and Laverde to Rohan. Im not sure we go with the roaming forwards (Cameron in particular), but defensively, the midfield has to turn up. McGrath pivotal in a shut down role on Gryan Miers who is becoming one of the most under rated players in the comp.

None of those match ups look good on paper tbh…not saying you’re wrong, just that we don’t match up well with Geelong.
Lav should be more than enough for Rohan mate. Rohan isn't that good.

Weid to Hawkins? The only guy who has the size to match really other than 2MP and a ruck. If he can prove that he can defend then he becomes instantly way more valuable.
So you are asking Bryan and 2MP to ruck ? who plays KPF ? It is not ideal but Weid has to play second ruck until Draper is ready to play or if Bryan does well and holds his place when Flip comes back.

Smokey but if Ridley is out then bring in cox to play on jezza. Has the tank and athleticism to go with him. Know his VFL form hasn’t been stunning but could be a good way to get him firing.

I don’t reckon that will happen though, likely Laverde will go to jezza and bzt gets Hawkins.

Wouldn’t mind seeing weed take Hawkins and bzt jezza. Then put 2mp chf and Langford FF.

Different type of player though.

Fine when Rohan is deep, not as certain when Rohan gets on his bike and works up and back. That’s not really Lav’s go.
Crows forwards all worked up and back last night and Lav was really good.

Who was Lav on?

Did they have the sort of wheels that Rohan has?
They had different players at different times but the all got up and down the ground all game . Lav took a couple of marks 80 to 90 meters out .

Let’s see how it plays out.

I stand by my main point - in general I don’t like our match ups with Hawkins, Cameron (assuming no Ridley) and Rohan.

The game will come down to the midfield matchups. No one was thinking we had great matchups for the Crows either .

The thing about Geelong is we don't match up well with them across the field, Hawkins and Cameron are superstars so very few can match them in the comp but its been that way for years.

Danger usually dismantles us because we have no one around the ball that goes as hard as him, selwood used to be the difference there too.
They are a bigger team, our tackling is normally horrible against them.

We transition really well, will that work at different ground?

I don't expect much coming up against this mob, but hey there was that time years ago when Watson was out and was it Welsh stood up? Did a number on Scarlett?
Maybe if we are missing Rids, Phillips and some others the youth will step up and announce themselves.

Anyone heard anything on Redman's apparent hamstring issue?

I did see a contest in I think the 3rd quarter on defensive 50 broadcast side of the ground, I think he was trying to smother near the boundary, where he grabbed his hammy ever so briefly after. I said to my wife straight away "Redman's done a hammy" but he played on so naturally assumed I was wrong.

In: Bryan, Tippa/Tex, Baldwin
Out: Phillips(susp), Ridley (inj), Shiel.

Weidemann should be dropped but won't be.

for whatever reason, Weideman always plays well against us, so you'd be mad to drop him. In fact if you're the betting type, put $$ on him kicking more goals than 2MP.

Is Draper back for this one?

No Sam .

Just what Scott said in post match presser. In is tendon related not muscle related

A pre-existing issue that occasionally flares up

Baldwin on Hawkins
Zerk on Cameron
Laverde on Rohan

I still think Scott's not too keen on the younger guys, especially with KPFs. I think we'll just go:
Lav on Hawkins
BZT on Cameron
Kelly on Rohan

I do hope Baldwin gets a call up though, otherwise you'd think he's probably gone end of the year (this is assuming Rids is out this week).
