Apart from the out on the full I thought Jones was pretty good tonight - another 20 games down back he will be something

He basically gifted collingwood about 30% of their score. Hes making inroads but he needs to learn when to leave his man and when to just camp on them. So many got out the back because he tried to hero ball some dumb spoil.

Crows game and now tonight he gave the oppo a shot at goal in the last with a big error, he's got a lot of goof traits but he has lost us momentum in our last 2 sat night big games

Need some composure at critical times but the youngsters like Jones, Bergman who got plenty of it and were good but made some poor decisions that cost goals.

The sub on Lycett was interesting, will be keen to hear the rationale. Once he went out the clearances became a real struggle.

Getting a banged up squad fit is key for September.

Marshall can kick (mostly) but has some embarrassing, noncompetitive efforts
Finlayson was invisible for 3 quarters and has now been down 2 weeks
Frank the tank offers not much, can't kick
Jed is the same as frank, we can't play them both
Willie is gonna be rubbed out again
Fantapants can't get on the park

We should have won that, no doubt. But it's not like we haven't been p*ssing away games through bad goal-kicking for ten years now. We just don't have reliable goal-kickers, simple as that. Elliott kicks how many goals (2 or 3) 50 metres out on the boundary and Marshall can't kick one 25 metres directly in front? That's the game. Sure, the umpiring didn't go our way in the last 10 minutes but ultimately the game should have been squared away by then.

Realistically I don't think we have the cattle to beat Collingwood (or Melbourne/Brisbane, for that matter) away, but we are well-placed to finish top 2 and you never know what might happen if we can get to the GF.

Evans and McEntee are not up to it and we need to find replacements. Narkle seems an obvious choice. I think we have to try Fantasia - he's a match-winner at his best and no point in dying wondering. If he blows up first game back then at least we know where we stand. He's just as likely to be back on the injury list after tomorrow though.

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution for Dixon, Lycett, Boak and Wines. The first two are just shot physically and the latter two are falling off the pace rapidly. Most of us would have been playing Hayes from Rd. 1 but we know he's out of the question so I think we're pretty much snookered in the ruck. Lycett and Finlayson for the most part managed to break even tonight. Wines is the most perplexing because you'd think he'd have a few good years left in him.

There are no easy answers. I think we just have to make the obvious changes and hope that we can cover our deficiencies well enough to get a spot in the GF.

It's obviously a shit feeling losing a game that with even half decent kicking for goal we should have won by at least 2 or 3 goals, but I didn't see anything from the wobblers tonight that suggests they are unbeatable in finals, regardless of where they are played.

Okay this game is definitely a repeat of the Richmond prelims.

Didn't Hartlett go for the soft boundary and get pinged and then **** up when there was an opportunity going forward.

Surely that late play was a mark. He had caught it before Sidebottom cannoned into him. Pies got some, let's say, nice decisions go their way.

Yeah they had the run of the green like they usually do in the last quarter. I am genuinely annoyed by the goal from the deliberate out of bounds free and the Elliott goal at the end where the ball came up for air and he went out of bounds. We controlled that game and should have won and they should not of been close enough for the umpires to get involved.
