From that bench..

I/C: J.Weddle, H.Morrison, C.Nash, C.Macdonald, J.Gunston

We know Weddle wont be sub, nor Nash or CoMac which leaves Harry & Jack.
It's a toughie. Harry has been invaluable the last two weeks always doing the right thing and getting to the right positions and Jack would have an equally invaluable role tonight in negating Weitering.

Honestly can't say. I'm tempted to suggest CoMac may actually be sporting the vest.

Just discovered the forum.

I much prefer this sort of discussion platform (I post a bit on an NRL forum, don't judge), so thanks to the mods for making this exist.

Im looking forward to posting more on this forum.

Up the mighty hawks!

Go Hawks! It is looking wet before and during the game. Will that see a late change? Would we risk dropping a tall in conditions less likely to suit the talls?

Don't take them lightly. They're still a potent side with wounded pride.

Blues will come out looking for redemption and will attempt to turn it into a contested slog. Match their physicality early and take the wind out of their sails. Back our skills in the wet.

They lack the tools to contain our rebound and small forwards as the game progresses. Don't bomb it to Weitering and we should have many avenues to goal.

Hawks by 30 after an early arm wrestle.

I expect this to be a hard fought win. Carlton are going to come at us hard. The conditions will make it a hard slog. The blues are a decent side, we cannot underestimate them early or could see ourselves down by 5 goals at the first break.

A couple of goals in it until the last change with the Hawks too good in the end, running out victors by 22pts.

Apart from the obligatory early arm-wrestle in the first I expect an easy victory.
They're over-rated crap with an underdone forward being rushed in on a night that's a small forwards feast.

We'll win this by around 40 points hard held.

I am almost 100% sure it's going to be Morrison but just FYI they can choose the sub from the players listed on the ground and have done before

He got coaches votes last week. Absolutely won't be Croc.

The sub doesn't necessarily have to come from that list of bench players either.

This reminds me of all the chatter against Port in last years finals- their own fans saying they aren’t a chance, we will destroy them, etc.
I think we will see a similar level of effort from the Blues- Port were blowtorched so hard they responded through sheer workrate and pressure, and I think the Blues will do the same tonight. Hopefully the cream rises- but if we are a little bit off Carlton are more than capable.

I’m so embarrassed we lost to that rabble being Port Adelaide. Genuinely bottled a prelim plus

Will be a tough game tonight. Carlton should come breathing fire after last week and we will need to withstand that onslaught for the first 10-15 minutes.

On form and paper we should win this and hopefully we have learned from the SF last year. Big opportunity for Ward, Frenchie, Croc and the rest of the younger brigade to setup.

If Nash can contain Cripps reasonably well and we don’t allow Weitering to control the air we should win.

Interested to see where Dimma starts. His ability to half or win contests could be invaluable in the F50 on a wet night, same goes for Finn.

Would love to say that we will blow them away and win by 6-8 goals but guy is telling me it’ll be another hard fought game with a margin of less than 20.

Go Hawks!
