I've noticed this for a while. We have become a bit too Treacy conscious when going forward. He does need to make more of his opportunities but he is not getting the amount that he has had previously.

The shot Voss had in the first from outside 50 when it went on the full, he had Amiss on a good lead inside an empty 50 after he managed to get separation on his opponent and Voss just completely ignored him.
They are all playing timid

I am not... I don't really read a lot of fanpages because a lot of people do what you're doing - not respecting someones opinion and attacking them. I have recently heard about this Flagmantle fella and to question if I am this character whom has made some pretty harsh calls about players.

Yes Fagan took Brisbane to a premiership but... Graham hasn't delivered us a Coleman so - Is he still highly regarded?
I'm not known around here for personal attacks but the person who runs that page deserves my ire.
Who thought it was a good idea hiring a guy as a forwards coach who kicked a total of 13 goals for his career? Including 9 goals in 24 games?
I merely see dots and join them.

I made the decision to not watch the game today and instead socialise and pay people attention close to me.

I made this decision based on my feeling we’d blow the game, and also that whilst I still love the club and support them I’ve come to the decision that they don’t deserve my time over real people, when the opportunity is there for me.

So happy I made the decision today.

Looking at the result, it’s not actually the result that hurts, it’s all the arrogant talk over summer of how good we are etc, yet we have nothing to base that on. It’s the continued promise talk without delivering. JL and his arrogance in preseason, with the Vanilla comment is really what hurts. Anyway, Sunday feels better not having sat through that.

I don’t think I’ve ever been as disillusioned with this club under JL as I am right now. Those post game comments from Driz were damning. Any hope that we were going to be more attacking and improve from last year completely out the window.

I’ve always been so so on JL but hearing the message that we need to do even more of what was literally costing us the game just proves that he’s so far out of his league it’s not even funny.

Someone said similar to Carlton in terms of great list that under achieves and that’s right. Only difference is we’re about 3-4 years younger so can still salvage this list with a good coach.

Once again... you're pointing fingers and not answering the question? Is Graham still highly regarded?

...Wait - Jaymie is that you? No wonder your dots aren't aligned...

Are you Flagmantle?

Flagmantle would have to be the biggest flog supporter. What he did with Jackson gossip and how he blocks anyone who challenges his narrative is pathetic. We all hate supporters like that.

This is the reason for me. I could tolerate losses if their was clear evidence we'd tried to fix the obviously broken **** but it looks identical to last year. He's not learning, it's over.
Yep. Same method in these first two games, the same method that was already figured out by 2023. Young and Darcy will make us better but they won't fundamentally change the way we play. It's now a waiting game, is he gone by the midseason break or are we giving him the rest of the year ala Hinkley at Port? The one positive I have is that our core talent is still young enough to turn it around with proper coaching.

I said from the start I am not...

So when I challenge someones narrative of if we could do better with a better forwards coach - I'm accussed of being some "flog supporter"? Sounds a little on the nose - but OK?

Over a couple of beers one night - a friend and I were discussing why Freo had never really taken advantage of having dominant players in certain positions (bar the midfields with Fyfe, Mundy and Barlow). I was curious to see who our Forwards coach was and was shocked that it wasn't a former dominant player. No one has really answered the question about our forwards coach - but everyone wants JLO's head?

While I'm venting, I'll get this one out there because it will be unpopular. I'd play Bruce ahead of a lot of players but his speed is probably going to put a ceiling on what he can become...
His height and lack of speed is why he slid to us. Fortunately he has a great footy brain and a supernatural handballing ability in the clinches. His best work will be when he can spend more minutes onball after a few preseasons building his tank. He really is Serong-like.

Erasmus action's cost us 3 goals today when they only scored 9
Which?
The HTB was on Pearce for not marking when clearly had the chance. He got spooked and punched it, poorly.
The shot on goal? Was 50m out.

Voss had Amiss in the clear 35m out in third- decided to have a shot.

Thought he was a pro from 55m in the first and missed everything.

The fourth- he should’ve iced the game

I'll take his lack of speed any day. The game has become worse the more it has moved from smart footballers with good skills towards just being able to run.

If we’re talking ceilings & they are obviously hypotheticals, but his ceiling could be someone like Sam Mitchell. At this early stage his speed of decision making & his skill execution is very good & not dissimilar to Mitchell.
He needs to continue to build his tank to make the most of getting into positions to utilise these skills.
I’d take 15 of Mitchell’s disposals over 30 of someone like Gaff. Quality over quantity every time.

I wonder if the club is aware of the pressure from supporters in removing JL?

The socials are a cesspool of inarticulate dribble, I guess people will start emailing the club.

I am personally disgusted the way this season has started, he needs to be sacked this week.
I think it’s gunna take an almighty flogging this Sunday to get the job done tho. 🤞

It’s definitely a lot more unanimous now. There used to be a lot more defenders. I don’t think I’ve seen even one person Tonight who doesn’t want him sacked
