ok, looking at it logically, sweet isn't great at this stage, though, do we just give him a chance, play English forward and naughton back?

One more performance like this and my silver reserved membership will be cancelled.

English seems to have pretty poor core strength. That can be fixed, but we don't see to be doing it.
He doesn't necessarily need to be a brute to be a quality AFL player, just a quality #1 ruckman. Taking that into account, he doesn't necessarily need to be a #1 ruckman, because adding on extra weight might impede one of his biggest strengths; his mobility as a big man.

The problem with Beveridge is that he clearly doesn't believe in strong, powerful ruckman. This was abundantly evident in 2015 where he persisted with Ayce Cordy as our number one ruck, and trying his hardest to keep Will Minson out of the team.

English has the capacity to become a high quality second ruck who rotates through the forward line and maybe even the wing.

Well put. I think the players obviously try but it must be dispiriting to see the selection and how you need to overcome it basically every week. It’s just baffling how often the wrong players are picked, or the right ones but in the wrong positions.

I can’t imagine anyone who knows anything about football - let alone a premiership coach and presumably MC who know way more than we do about it - can select Gardner in front of Young, Trengove etc. Not only that, but continue to play Daniel and JJ in the backline when one always gives up easy marks due to height and the other basically gets tagged out of the game by any small forward who has any kind of physicality.

I’ve posted about five hundred times about goal conversion - I can’t do it again. We got lucky for four weeks at the right time in relation to that, but it’s been an issue for years (decades?)

Great post I think our system works when the mids dominate. When we give up the middle of the ground, our backline stands no chance and our forward entries are haphazard

Hey lads, can someone please enlighten me as to why so many were talking you blokes up before this season? I never bought into the hype, mainly because it was clear you still had massive issues with KPPs. You can have all the star mids you want, but if you don't have sturdy blokes holding down the key positions it counts for naught. And so far this season, that take looks like the right call. Did you guys buy into the hype, or did you think it was unjustified as well? I'm not trying to troll or anything, I'm genuinely curious.

Piss off.
