I'm at work. I see we lost in another faux comeback.

Hot Fuzz Shame GIF

Carbon copy of all of our close losses. The saddest part is we are good enough to get in front, just not smart enough to stay there. We need to **** off this working harder crap once and for all, we win all of the bloody stats every week except the one that matters. Get a working system in place over the off season making the most of each player's individual skills - you know, like those teams in the top 4 that have a weaker roster than ours.

Sheesh

Our last 3 weeks ...

v Collingwood (3rd on the ladder)

+82 disposals
+8 clearances
-3 inside 50s

LOST BY 6 POINTS

v Geelong (1st on the ladder)

+42 disposals
-2 clearances
+10 inside 50s

LOST BY 12 POINTS

v Melbourne (2nd on the ladder)

+56 disposals
+13 clearances
+6 inside 50s

LOST BY 14 POINTS

I had this thought last week - I hope we didn't go down an assistant coach this season because we spent that money for Shaun Burgoyne in whatever made up role he has.

The selection of McEntee these past two games instead of someone like Hayes sums up the stupidity of our coaches.
He offers nothing, loses every contest he’s in.

Having a spare tall would have made a goal or two difference in both games.

SPP has turned out to be one of our consistent best players

Butters looked like he was on the improve

Rozee is something special

Marshall played well

Burgoyne will be a star

Bergman, Georgie and Duurs have to improve.......they can all be something special
Marshall played well? In what way?

McEntee does less around the ground than Hayes.

Wines has become the AFLs most pointless player.

Last 4 weeks: 35 contested touches, 65 uncontested. and again today he had 3 pissweak moments at the end of the game.

1. toe poking the ball into the arms of Mason Cox instead of taking posession.
2. not bumping De Goey off the ball
3. dropped mark

Not to mention all the bad kicks.

Burgoyne was clearly the biggest positive for the day. 17 touches, 7 marks and nails a goal under pressure. What impresses me most though is his ability to win defensive contests. He pretty much always keeps his feet, and has great composure for such a young player.
Should be nominated for rising star

25% more disposals than them,
22% more clearances

Still less I50s, still felt like we were smashed apart from 15 mins in the 1st and an ok last qtr.

We are so ineffectual. Our game plan is shit. All these mids and fluffy touches, yet we do nothing with it and don't hurt the opposition at all.

Losing today is probably the best result for the club.

Now the focus can go to next year.

if we sack Ken this year.........what will we have to do next year?

Yep. Our brightest light for the day. Whatever 'it' is, he just has it. Going to be an absolute steal given the price we got him at.

I thought his grab early on was perfect

His tackle and chase resulting in a turn around showed hard work

14 disposals

1 goal 2 was disappointing though

was our best tall upfront today

This from a guy who wasn't AFL standard until a few months ago, is a positive
