At least the Drug Cheats’ season is done and dusted also. Means there isn’t anything at stake when we lose.

Once our season was cooked, seeing them fail was the next thing I was looking forward to.

Watching the Demons crashing out of finals is the only thing left to enjoy this year now.

Why are we wasting games on Mav and Gilbo?
And DMac has to continue playing. One of the few who has actually improved this year.

Freeman, Sinclair and Newnes were our wingers on Saturday night and had 43 disposals between them...

That is absolutely disgusting..

I'd put Sinclair to HB, give Freeman another go rotating with Acres.. and play JB a full 4qtr game there spelling with Clark forward

I actually reckon if JB played 4qtrs on a wing he'd have 30 easily

Seb was on a wing to a lot of the night and took Freezer under his wing and sent him to the right spots.

Well that’s good to hear...some leadership at last.

I think he owns one of those prize barrels they used to have on TV.

Gives it a spin and pulls out some names.

Now watch me get smashed... With a reply in capital letters :)

It’s just way past time to move on from some players, esp if it’s doubtful they’re going to be on our list next year. I’d put Minch and Wright in the same basket. Armo stays because he has a contract, although he hasn’t actually been so bad. I’m happy with the other ins he mentioned.

Gilbo deserves a farewell game in round 23. He’s been a very good player for us over the years, but the end comes for all.

Can't see anything to lose now in focusing heavily on churn & learn.

B Paton Goddard McKenzie
HB Coffield Austin Rice
C Freeman Clark Acres
HF Billings Carlisle Gresham
FF Lonie Membrey Long

F Pierce/Marshall Steven Sinclair

Int Steele, Phillips, Webster/White, Ganglands

Three rounds to go, if not now, then when?

Apparently had 54 hitouts and 14 possessions against Footscray at the weekend. Is it enough to get him a game under Richo, with Hickey and Longer out?

Take this as you will but prior to the season I was speaking to someone with the knowledge on the Pierce situation. I think at the end of last year Pierce kind of knew where he stood in terms of not getting any games and having to ruck at Sandy with the other 4-5 others. Then they put him on the rookie list which was supposedly against his contract. Was not happy with this and legal action was a possibility to be paid what he was entitled to. So they agreed to play him as a sole ruckman at Frankston for this year obviously. Even though he is probably needed I don't think he'll play.

Well the Dons can win three straight and make it, BUT have to beat the Tigers. Maybe even two wins if all the other games full there way.

Dees have a hard run home. ie Swans, WCE over there and GWS

So Dons will not have given up when we play them this Friday night.

I think he will play. We have no tall forwards left so Marshall has to play at FF.

If Pierce isn't picked then its Marshall (ruck) and Gilbert to come in as second ruck/utility and a very very short a*** forward line

He should and I hope he does.

Last chance saloon - I actually think he's sounding like he should get a one year deal with one of Hickey or Longer being traded out, but if he plays an AFL game that might change my mind!

Marshall in if only Hickey injured.
Marshall and Pierce if both Battle and Hickey are injured.
Rice in for Coffield, who I don't think is anywhere near it at the moment.
Phillips in for Dunstan as that will make the midfield balance better.

I'd love for us to have three tall forwards but we're running out of available players.

Mathematically possible but 2 wins out of the 8 with a terrible % (compared to those around them) which essentially makes it 3 wins.

Agree though, they will be looking to belt us by 100 points to make up the % gap. Even then I doubt they can make it.

I feel like Pierce should be the ruckman despite Battle's fitness. The guy who has been playing and training as a ruckman all year and doing a pretty good job at Frankston deserves his shot before the guy who pitch hits for 5 minutes a quarter.

That being said, Marshall should be back in anyway but not as he ruckman.

OUT: Hickey (inj), Battle (conc.), Coffield, Dunstan

Would be really happy to see some future run out again this week. Last thing I want is to see Gilbert or Weller run out.
Would also like to see Newnes dropped but the other 16 rounds I have wanted that he has held his spot so assume this week is no different.
