GWS
Sunday in Canberra should bring a warm sunny day for what should be a cracking clash. Hawthorn has been one of the form sides since the mid-season bye, while GWS has been slowly improving in recent weeks. We met in round 13, in Tasmania, with Hawks snatching a late win. On our (secondary) home ground, Giants need to get the job done. This is yet another "must win" game for GWS. Win, and we remain in that glut of teams around second to sixth within 2 points of each other - so a possible top 4 finish - but more so we create a tiny bit of space from teams below us with more difficult games in the final 3 weeks. Lose, and we hand a top 8 rival 4 points, and we could miss finals altogether too. It's a big day for the midfield, need to stand up to the Hawks mids, and for Briggs too, having to battle against Lloyd Meek who's having a good year.

C'mon Giants!

A lot will hang on our ability to stop their fleet of crafty (calling ducking and flopping crafty in 2024) small forwards.
Looking forward to seeing another BOG from Callaghan today.

I agree, I think a lot will come down to our defence in this game.

We have all of our first-choice defenders available and Taylor's had a chance to blow the cobwebs out last round. I'd like to see them be that brick wall that they're capable of being when they're all firing.

Limit their scoring and we can overwhelm them easily on the transition.

Go Giants!

It's clear and sunny but at 13 degrees I don't know about warm.

The implosion of Sydney and Carlton's drop-off have blown the premiership race wide open.

Get the win today Giants and make sure we're part of it.

We are yet to lose at our Manuka home ground this season, and have won our last three matches here. This year, we held off St Kilda by 1point, and comfortably accounted for Brisbane by 54 points - so happy 2024 memories at Manuka! Hopefully our boys will raise to this occasion and win this critical “8 point match”. Let’s Go Giants!

Hopefully we can give a four quarter effort. We need to use our advantage of speed in the front half.

If we can keep minimise their small forwards free kicks it’ll help a lot.
Unfortunately the bids on the men in white are done via silent auction, would be nice to know ahead of the game if we had them won over
