We definitely have a number of good with the bad players!
Ash starts souch of our attack with aggressive play, but also makes some clangers that are just shocking.
Bedford, Peatling and XOH give so much effort and pressure and work so hard but make some terrible skill errors and decisions.
Toby is Toby, but some of the brain dead free kicks he gives is mine blowing.
That is footy I guess!

Ash had two today that were particularly bad. Everyone makes mistakes but missing 15-20m short targets under no pressure inside our defensive 50 really isn’t good enough for a fifth year player who was a very high draft pick.

Absolutely!
But he also is the trigger for so many of our raids!
Good with the bad!
Peatling and Bedford are the same, we launch a raid they do great with effort and miss an easy kick or handball and it flies the other way.

Geez I hope we learn a lesson from that Binga move to the midfield.
We have so many players who just want to wrestle… get some of the quicker, ball hunters in there… it does my head in!!
It’s a good call. For all Peatling’s energy and clutch efforts you can see why the coaching staff don’t consider him a walk up starter in the midfield.

Really missing the quick feet of Coniglio and the poise of Kelly in the middle, but Daniels did a great job in that final quarter.

6. 2024’s best final quarter

Trailing by 28 points at three-quarter time against Hawthorn, with their season hanging by a thread ahead of a monstrously tough final three weeks, Adam Kingsley made the move that might have just saved GWS’ season.

He put Brent Daniels, up until then having a quiet game in his usual role of roaming half-forward with stints in the midfield, permanently on the ball.

No player came close to the influence the Giants pocket rocket wielded in the final term in Canberra; zipping into space whenever his teammates got the ball going, winning his own footy in close and even drilling a monster goal late in the piece to begin the comeback in earnest, you would have been forgiven for thinking there were two of him out there.

Daniels would finish the quarter with 12 disposals, a staggering six score involvements, two goal assists, 303 metres gained and that huge goal, to draw the margin back to under two kicks in the dying minutes and give the Giants proper belief.

Given the stakes, given the odds against them at the start of the last, it’s the best individual final quarter of season 2024. And it should confirm to the footy world that Daniels, an underrated key element of this Giants’ team, is as damaging a footballer as any of his more high-profile teammates.

Only Jesse Hogan’s extraordinary afternoon, finishing with five goals and marking virtually everything that came his way, will deny Daniels three Brownlow Medal votes, one suspects.

With Brisbane at the Gabba, Fremantle at home and the Bulldogs in Ballarat forming their run home, this comeback was utterly crucial for the Giants. It means that, in all likelihood, just one more win will seal a finals berth, most likely a home one; and after hitting September at full speed last year to storm into a preliminary final and come within two points of upsetting the eventual premiers, we all know what they can do on the biggest stage.

And if they do go far again, it will all have started with the littlest man on the team becoming a true Giant.

What a comeback!

Family gathering so I only watched some of the 3rd and all of the last. Can't comment on individual performances but Hogan, Brent, Tobey were magnificent!

A gutsy call by Kingsley to back his young troops. The confidence and experience gained from such a game will go a long way this season.

Ironically, we are in ascendancy compared to our neighbour. Who would have guessed that?!

Well one thing is certain we certainly have the ability to flick a switch and come from behind with a lot of goals in a short period. That's Carlton ,Melbourne and Hawks where we have won after falling behind by over four goals..Good teams have gears....but yeah good teams also play 4 quarters...Will take it though.Good win Giants

Special mention to Toby McMullin who I thought had some really nice moments yesterday. He has done well to cement a spot in the team and looks more comfortable each week.
He is a ripper.
The contested mark followed by a quick kick to the middle in the 3rd started us being able to move the ball better
