How much revenue do you predict that you would have lost? I wouldn't have Freo would pull a big crowd in what was already a dead rubber?

Port got 33k at their last home game so anything less than that would be worth a call to ask the AFL for compensation.

Would be a bit hard to ask for compensation if they get over their last home game attendance.

Didn't Eddie ask for compensation for playing a twilight Sunday match last season - the poor dears.

Does anyone know what the NEW SMA deal is. Does it run on a season average attendance for the "bonus" or is it a game by game basis? Given the reported SMA structure, if you get a really "CBF" crowd could it cost you the bonus? And if so how much would this be?

Unless the bulldogs lose to Brisbane......

Hence why I said 'all but puts paid'. I know you are one of the worst mygodwhatarethecrowsgonnado posters we have but even you have to admit it's very unlikely.

Freo wouldn't even show up with a full team anyway, it's nothing but fools gold banging on about our great end of season form when we are playing hard against teams that have either given up\shit or just don't care.

We've still got to rock up ourselves and beat them. Even with a few out they're a quality side sitting on top of the ladder and we are 9th, i don't think it is a fait accompli.

Or even more likely the crows lose to the cats who have to make amends for the mockery that was last friday night, have to show Clangerfield they are still a worthy destination & for their heroes to be sent off in a good fashion....

Although they'd want to send their retirees out in style, depending on who gets the DCM and how that's handled, it could be a bit gloomy down at Kardinya Park...

Hmmm Richmond do have an almost supernatural ability to screw up the unscrewable.

If that was the case they would've finished 9th last year. ;)

The danger for them is what they will do in the finals.

Lyon confirmed that skipper Matthew Pavlich, Luke McPharlin, Aaron Sandilands, David Mundy, Stephen Hill and Lee Spurr would definitely not play this week.

The Dockers will discuss any further changes over the coming days.

"I think that's a really good starting point and I think most of those are pretty obvious," Lyon said on Tuesday.

The Freo players who come into the side will be busting their guts to do well and earn a finals berth, they could be very hard to beat!

Port $1.10 and Freo $7.25.
Last week port $2.05.... thanks to cleaning up v hawthorn & knowing what freo would do i could put a few $ on this result last week.... and I've already cashed out the total of my original bet, plus will still get a quite a handy return just incase port happen to get up... in the end its cost me nothing.

Hawthorn had something to play for, they were still going for top two at the time. And they were within one point at 3/4 time, hardly the sign of a team that doesn't care about winning. The manner of most of our wins has been what has been pleasing. We have has players prepared to leave their man and run for the ball carrier to provide a handball or kick target if they are tackled. This is especially obvious in seeing how few times Pittard has been run down recently. In nearly all cases he has been run down by taking too much on but lately he has not needed to do that, and if he does take players on he has somewhere to release the ball to.

Think how much we would be thanking Freo if we were playing for a spot in the 8.
That's exactly it. If we'd snagged even 1 or 2 of the ridiculously winnable games we let slip earlier in the year we would be all for them resting every player they have. It's a dead rubber cause we let our season slip away.

I find the Freo people on bigfooty like Woodville/West Torrens people, dipshits. Not used to winning but when they are, they do like to carry on

Those worrying about Lyon resting half our players at the end of the season would probably be better off asking Hinkley why half your players didn't turn up at the start of the season.

The line in the betting is set at 51.5 points. Yes you can back the top team in the comp to win and get a 51point start for almost even money bet. Money for jam!
