Mullin is miles ahead of Clohesy as a potentially impactful player right now. Every time I've seen Mullin at VFL level he impressed me. Extremely clean when under pressure, great ball use making consistently good decisions, stands up physically, etc. He's clearly still trying to work out what to do at any point so occasionally makes bad blues but 90% of his game is very good.

Clohesy might make it. He's extremely tough and courageous and shows good skills at times. But at the moment he's fumbly and gets out bodied at VFL level. Playing him would be unfair on him. He's nowhere near ready.

Like the look of both these guys.

Mullin has come a very long way in a short period of time - he looked super assured below his knees , no fumbling at the weekend and gave off some excellent handballs as well as penetrating kicks. His athletic profile is exciting and once he improves his positioning he could be a weapon.

Clohesy is a tough nut with great skills on both sides - likes a goal as well. Promising for a rookie pick.

probably the most detailed of the year! From this I read that we will have a small forward line!

Definite outs

Hawkins, Close, Sav Jezza (and Duncan)

From this I reckon Toby is certain to debut…they way Lloyd talked…. With Hawkins out they can play both him and Stanley if he gets up for the game.

If you read into what he said Guthrie isn’t coming back.

So this will be a very fun week. Nothing riding on the result and will see a glimps into the future against a team needing to win…

Ins:

Dempsey, Knevitt, Toby for sure

Maybe Stanley, Mullin and (I am just being hopeful here) Ted for a second debut..

EDIT: I forgot menegola…reckon he gets in as well. Might be instead of a second debutant

Conway playing this week.

Get excited
I am. (I hope for his sake that Stanly also gets back in and they can share the ruck with Stanly playing forward - now Hawkins and Jezza not playing - and then Stanley can sub off unless Toby needs to)…

I would be doubly so if they could squeeze Ted in for a debut too…

Reckon Stanley will play forward one of few guys on the list with some size thats actually played the role before

I think they play both (if Stanley right). Can rest forward given no Jezza nor Hawk
Reckon they'll give Neale and Stanley a go as the two tall targets inside 50m / and Conway rucking with a chopout from Stanley when rested.

Probably not much different (with Conway) to what I think we'll see next year. Blicavs and Stanley providing ruck chopout for Toby, and we heard C Scott say a few times this year that if they had availability with big blokes they were happy to play 2 ruckman.

Ok…so it is Tuesday ahead of a dead rubber game where we are going to miss finals - a rare event…

Playing a team who is desperate to atone and make finals with half dozen or more of our best 22 out - so we probably get pumped…

But I find myself getting excited about the game already - strangely really excited…

I feel like I can have an emotional free hit….will not feel any pain if we get pumped but boy if we win that will be something to get excited about to finish the year. I am going to not have too high expectations on Knevitt/Dempsey/Conway but if they give me anything it will keep me warm during the off season!!

Menegola will definitely get a farewell game (which he deserves) with all the outs.

Sounds like
Out: Duncan (susp) hawkins cameron sav close (all inj)
In: Stanley Menegola dempsey knevitt mullin/simpson (i suppose hardie is the smokey if they want one look before delisting him)

Farewell games for smith tuohy menegola and maybe stanley
I hope hawk does play on

Would love to see clohesy this week but probably unlikely.

So no Guth, Hawk, Jez, Dunc, Rohan, Sav, Close and Blics.

Quite simply, if they don't beat us this week, they really are a broken club.

Potential debut for a son of a gun?

Uncapped ruckman Toby Conway put himself in the mix for a debut with an impressive showing in the final round of the VFL, finishing with 21 disposals and 26 hit-outs against Greater Western Sydney.

Lively forward Ollie Dempsey (23 disposals and two goals), mid-season draftee Mitch Hardie (21 disposals and a goal), youngster Mitch Knevitt (21 and a goal) and father-son Osca Riccardi (21 disposals and a goal) were others to press their case for a final-round berth.

I am not sure it sounds like Rhys would be in, I think signs are pointing to Tall Toby playing based off social media fluff layered with Simon Llyod fluff during the medical update.

Potentially both play

Conway is one of the ins.

Stanley will play on another year. Menegola 2E and Smith with farewell games. Duncan surely must be 50/50 to play on if stories about his knees are correct ... but I'm expecting he'll play on one more year and bow out with his mate Hawk at the end of next season (if he makes it through that far).

Safe to assume Ceglar doesn't get a farewell game if Stanley doesn't come up?

Totally agree

English is in great form but his tap work isn't his one wood - would be great to give Toby a shot and agreed Vdubs - Toby will be able to gauge the work rate of an elite ruck. Even if only for a half will be worth the experience and give him strong motivation in the off season.
Definitely play Knevitt and Dempsey plus I'd be tempted to debut Clohesy as he's been very consistent and good in the 2's - perhaps Atkins deserves a rest?

I really hope we are bold at selection and show faith in the younger brigade. Admittedly there is a fair chance we will be beaten by a very motivated opponent but I'd rather give them the experience than trot out what we did v Saints.
I'd play Neale again to give him more of a sniff
