Round 3: Collingwood Vs St Kilda MCG

If you think McCartin will definitely be better than Cloke you are a colossal anus of the highest order.

No one knows how good McCartin will end up, but the only thing for certain is that was an extremely disappointing start.

Just hope for Saints sack he isn't another pick 1 bust (which is actually pretty common) because it's a long long rebuild coming.
We actually can nail our number one picks and I am confident that McCartin will be better then Cloke.

Next time when bagging out a player I might recommend seeing his games in the under 18's and all throughout pre-season.

And pray tell how many Number 1 picks has St Kilda gone bust on?

Umm, Nick Riewoldt, oh wait, how about Brendon Goddard, gee what terrible luck St Kilda has with the top pick hey

Tell me how many number 1 picks have been busts? I mean you said it is pretty common...

Paddy McCartin unknown
Tom Boyd jury still out
Lachie Whitfield nope
Jonathon Patton unless he stays injury plagued probably not
David Swallow doubtful
Tom Scully possible
Jack Watts well.....
Matther Kreuzer not sure
Bryce Gibbs nope
Marc Murphy nope
Brett Deledio probably not
Adam Cooney probably not
Brendon Goddard lol
Luke Hodge bigger lols
Nick Riewoldt yeah right

So number 1 draft picks are busts commonly how now?

Cooney wins the brownlow and you say "probably not " your credibility is shot

Lol did I write superstar incarnate next to Roo? Did I write goddamned legendary captain next to Hodge? Why read one comment but not the rest? I gave no player on that list much credit.

Anyone giving Mccartin a hard time is being ridiculous.

A KPF on debut is never going to perform well... particularly not on a wet day, nor on a day when his team is being outplayed.

I think his performance wouldve been very encouragin for the saints... He was able to get to contests consistently and put in a decent effort when there. You can't expect much more on debut.

Really?

That's your angle?

Newsflash: Team with a bunch of young players (Membrey, Bruce, McCartin, Longer, Lonie, Sinclair, Wright, Billings, Dunstan, Shenton all on the low side of 22 I believe? With Geary, Newnes, Weller, Savage, Roberton 23-24? That's 15 players right there) doesn't play well for a full game.

Duds the lot of them I tell you, duds! That Padrick McCardin didn't kick 5.4!
Pies had 12 players with less than 50 games compared to the Saints 14, it wasn't as if an experienced side beat them up.

Pies kids just much better, and that is without our FOUR top 10 picks even playing

Also, can someone explain to me why there was so much hype around Nathan Wright a couple of years ago, with people saying he was "Judd-esque", etc.? Always looked fairly average to me, and looks like a real scrubber of a player now. I know he's still pretty young, but there's nothing particularly special about him IMO.

Pies mids much better, Pendlebury and Swan vs Steven and Armitage was not exactly a fair fight either. There is no way to tell if your youngsters will be better then ours. Personally I think Dunstan and Billings will be guns in the future, and I am sure a few of your young players will go the same way. However both teams will have their fair share of duds, and players who leave to go to where they think are greener pastures.
Your forward line of Cloke and White also had experience over Membrey, Bruce and McCartin too.

Our time will come again, and so will yours.

It was a belting from a Pies side that was full of kids, our mids were ordinary as Sidebottom, Greenwood, Adams weren't there and Pendles not fit.

Kids like Broomhead, Crisp, Oxley stood up and Grundy dominated the ruck.

This is just rubbish. Our starting forward line was three 18 year olds with 4 games between them plus a 19 year playing his 4th game. Bruce provided the experience with his 5 games up forward.

Grundy dominated the ruck did he????

So on that assumption your kids are gonna be great and our kids might as well turn to another sport? Do you really think it would have been as easy had we had the big power forward and you had a bunch of kids in your forward line? And if you had the inexperienced players and we had Swan and Pendlebury?

A broken jaw a badly broken leg in his first two seasons will slow most up. Just coming back from injury again.
